Mid-Year Mitch

Күн бұрын

Welcome to my KZbin channel. This channel is the home for all your vintage Mid-Year Corvette content.
I just finished restoring a 1963 Corvette Split Window and I am starting another split window build but this time its a race car build. I will be making videos every Friday. I will be making videos on my 1963 Corvette Split Window, my dad's 1965 Corvette, my race car split window build, my friends 1960 Corvette, and other projects that I find along the way. Let me know what you think about the video. Enjoy!!
If you are interested in an official MYM hat or if you have any questions please send me an email to midyearmitch@gmail.com.
Check out my Instagram for some behind the scenes pics of my builds.

Sit back and enjoy the show!

Thanks! It’s hard to do the same thing over and over again and spin it in a new way to make the videos interesting. So I try to raise the bar and do it differently to keep it interesting.

Looking great Mitch, thanks for the new vid, nice to see so much progress, that's really intimidating work for most Corvette owners. My update: I tuned the bucking at extreme low speed (almost) out of my '66 w/mystery 350 and I'm making good vacuum.. Too much vacuum advance though, plus the idle was a bit lean. It still bucks a little but that's right before a stall, and the engine pulls 12" Hg steady now at 850 rpm. Calling it a win! Maybe I'll build a 327...Keep 'em rolling 👍

Hey there Mitch, Wow, those wide quarters look great! You should be able to fit some nice fat tires in there. Take care, Dan

Haha I have accumulated a lot of clamps over the years. I have a small army lol. I need to refurbish a lot of them. They are cheapy harbor freight clamps that won’t clamp tight anymore.

That was some great work. It is really fun to watch these cars start to come together, and give us a hint of what the final assembly will look like. This Sting Ray is gonna be a fire breathing Monster! You are a true craftsman. Thanks for sharing your passion with us. Stay safe.

If I were a "corvette " guy doing this all the time I would consider making some molds for some of these parts .

I have made some molds along the way to fix common trouble areas. But typically I buy new parts if I can or I make molds as I go.

Hijacking your comment section to ask, which company do you find to have the best C2 reproduction fenders, specifically the front end? Love your videos, always informative.

Enjoy watching your videos and learning from you. Excellent work! Maybe you can answer a question i have? I take it that when bonding panels together you have to clamp them together pretty tight to stay in place. How much of the panel bond adhesive remains in between?. Can you clamp too tight and squeeze too much adhesive out? how to control this aspect?

Great work Mitch. What is that two part adhesive? Looks like plio-grip brand.

Hey, what material did you use to build up the space between the bonding strips and glass? Filler? Thank you for the content
