Hello I put the camera up frist with out connecting it so I have to take it down and do it over again. My friend put it up for me and I was at work.

They are not compatible with 5 Ghz Wi-Fi networks, only 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi networks.

How the cam so far, I heard it goes into night mode if not enough light is sensed or rain/snow sets off detection ?

Yes it goes into night mode when it gets dark. The one I have in Florida is being set off by rain and by bugs at night. It didn't seem to do that until I pointed it down more to avoid catching all the cars that drove by.

Will this item work in your car to keep eye on your dog. ?

The camera has to be plugged in and then it has to be connected to WiFi, so probably not.
