Today we are installing a gigantic 750kg, 7.5m long steel beam at the back of this house ready for bifold doors. This steel is also a massive 430mm tall.
This is what they call a goal post system so either side will be a 152mm square post to pick up either side of the steel which will be bolted together.
Watch the video to see if all goes well!

Good insertion job Kieren. But i can not understand why the engineer did not use the standard two `I`Beams bolted together to take the two skins. At first i thought the reason it was designed like that was it was being pushed up into the cavity for max height. Maybe i am missing something and need to see the rest of the vids. Interesting. 👍👍

Excellent job lads, glad now we have Prop pals plenty of room to move the beam stress free. Currently installing one roughly with two columns is about a ton. It's hanging on the columns 😬.

This is the first time I've seen a telehandler in the UK on KZbin, I've been operating telehandlers for the last 15 years, I'm halfway through your clip and so far well done, what I would say is train your signaller you will both work a lot better together.

Cont; maybe you could have been a fair bit closer to the lift, you're in what looks like a 6 meter machine at about 75% of capacity.

The shame is that the strongboys couldn't be used inside, that would have been a straight forward lift, but well done, good lift.

Going back 25years we had to put a 9mt RSJ to support a loft extension put in by cowboys with no support it took a week to jack the extension back up a right mess. It took 8 of us to lift it into place through the gable wall and then up into the other side All from the inside with no machinery other than acro props. Joy

What is that section - looks like a 406*??*??. if you say approx 750kg and it looks like its supporting both skins with the welded late, must be at least a 406*178*85 ub. Won't that leave a 200mm step in the ceiling?. I reckon 2 side by side 254*254*79UC and a 254*146*43 would have been a more appropriate choice for ceiling ingress. A touch heavier but probably cheaper as no plate fabrication needed. Also a bit easier to move as they have a lower centre of gravity. Well done for getting that in though as 3/4 tone of steel can do a lot of damage if not given the right amount of respect

not a difficult job - you know its big when needles are needed (and not light weight strongboys - 300kg max for each one)...... this is very easy when you have so much space on a newish build and a mechanical JCB lifter..... Whats more, why did you not show close ups at any stage? And why not explain why it was not a conventional I-beam and show the hard bit which was packing it out and how it takes the load...... the video is as useful as a square wheels....
