Cool little heater. Great supplementary heater. As you say it's always good to have a backup AND a back-up to the back-up for the essential things. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

*Jason ! You are the "Woodsman Gnome" dude ! I love your determination to live year round off grid in a Yurt of all things. You should skirt the yurt to keep the chilly air from flowing under the floor. Looks like a cool little heater. You should vent to exhaust so it can't seep in through the floor. You need a still to make a little brandy for those mellow nights in the woods. Maybe throw some plants in. They sell ones that are called "self flowering" and go to bud in 6 to 8 weeks. Perfect for the short growing season in Oregon. How does your family get any privacy in a 30' circle ? Your kids would like some I'm sure. Anyway another good vid. Peace Brother ! 👊😎👍

Hey Thanks Man! I appreciate that! Sounds great! I do have quite the green thumb when growing plants so maybe I'll touch on that in some upcoming videos. With the yurt we have detached bedrooms that make a huge difference. Out the back door I built 2 bedrooms. One with an upstairs loft so 3 large separate bedrooms total.

Ah, now I get it. I was wondering. I got my self flowering seed from a place called growers choice seeds. They warranty they're seeds to so if they don't germinate they credit your account. Check em out. You could spend a week looking through all the stuff. Peace Brother ! 👊😎👍

Neat little heating unit! I think it will work fine as a supplemental source of heat along with your wood burning stove. I agree with you about the option of installing the diesel-powered heater inside the yurt. I think it's safer to have it run under the structure. If you put skirting around the yurt in the future, I would make sure that the exhaust is outside of the skirting to avoid the buildup of carbon monoxide under your living space.

Hey Thanks! It seems to be working good. I did purchase a much longer exhaust pipe that will work great for that.

I think a T or a Y pipe is next with more insulated (or tin) hose to route heat to another spot in the yurt.

I was totally thinking about that!

You need to hook a hose on the end that you called the fresh air intake That's actually your heat return or heat exchanger run a secondary hose into the house so also help keep the house from having a negative pressure

I need to look into how to attach a duct from in the yurt on to the heat return on the heater.

Hello from Canada! Love your videos! Just a quick thought I had while watching your video. If you do put a skirting around the bottom of the yurt, you might want to make sure you leave a vent for the exhaust system on that heater. Don't want any carbon monoxide building up under there ;)

Hey Thanks! Yes, good idea. I do have a much longer section of that pipe that will be perfect.

You don’t want diesel inside the yurt. Good idea keeping it out.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask I've been using these for over 20 years now I used to take them out of and Volkswagen and there's two brands before the Chinese copied them at bispatcher and wabasco you can also increase the efficiency by running the hot exhaust through a cast iron radiator this way it recaptures the hot exhaust through the radiator increasing your efficiency by 90% keep your eye out for an old smaller cast iron or radiator

Hey Thanks Kurt! I appreciate the help. I joined a Facebook site on these heaters and have seen that radiator set up and was interested

You're pulling air from outside and heating it You're supposed to put a second hose on the incoming air you only have to do this if you put the diesel heater outside as if the unit was inside it would automatically recirculate without having hose so you have to do a little bit of adapting this way you recirculating the heat air over and over again instead of trying to heat up the outside air and normal HVLC this is called a return

You’ll have to exhaust it outside the skirting.
