The fan and fan speed have to be controlled with the remote that comes with the fan. I think you aren't really supposed to use a dimmer switch with a ceiling fan but this one still works.

@@renovateyourmind What do you do if you run into an issue if the fan keeps humming when the dimmer is installed? Was not humming with regular switch.

@@renovateyourmind Indeed, light dimmers aren't supposed to be used with ceiling fans. As far as I'd read they tend to damage the fan or the switch itself can fail. I noticed one thing that wasn't supposed to work but in your case it did. 1. These smart switches don't get along with ceiling fans that come with a remote control module, but yours did. How is that so? Did I miss something? Do the fan speed slows when you dim the lights with the remote or the smart switch, by any chance? Thanks for your video.

Haha! Why would you need a dimmer switch when the fan already has a remote that can dim the lights! Thatl's weired and funny because whenever a fan comes with a remote controller that can already dim the included lights, there's no need for a dimmer switch AT ALL. In fact, you could have just bought the Bond Bridge. It's a bridge that can record either radio frequency or infered ceiling fan remote controllers, and simply make the whole fan unit smart. Also, preferrably, if you're gonna make a ceiling fan light smart, you gotta make the fan itself smart too!

8:19 That's a Hunter Bennette ceiling fan according to the link I checked out in the description.
