CZ needs to start making Picatinny 1913 rails as a factory receiver option, at least for the US market. It's ridiculous how pretty much everyone with these rifles has to cobble together an optic mount.

Thanks for the video, I'm picking up a CZ 457 American next week. I'm going to pick up the same rail. Blue loctite will be fine I use it on set screws all the time.

If its permanent you should be putting on loctite on the rail where it meets the receiver... clean up the mess let dry for 24 hours. If you're really paranoid you should also look up the dry vs wet torque values and set your torque driver accordingly when using loctite as it alters the torque values to wet instead of dry.

The mount is designed to lock on the underside of the machined mount on the receiver. The set screws lift the picatinny rail away from the receiver to lock in place on the machined receiver groove. So if applying LocTite it would need to be used sparingly in the original receiver groove. "I" recommend NOT doing this, stick with the purple LocTite on the setecrews only.

What MOA is the rail?

DIP offers 0 and 25 MOA rails. Most choose 25 MOA for 22LR rifles for longer distance shooting provided their scope has enough adjustment to still reach down to 50 yards or whatever they want for the minimum distance. Area 419 offers 0 MOA and 30 MOA rails.

Some rifle receivers come with threaded holes for mounting picatinny rails.

Why do you use a different rail other than the dovetail rail already on the rifle?

Because sometimes you have a scope and rings on hand, before the rifle purchase, and requires a picitinny rail.

Just buy 11mm dovetail rings. Not that difficult. Unless you need built in cant in the rail. But then again they have rings for that too.

I read that dovetail rails are the common rail used in Europe while many in the USA prefer picatinny. Many already have the picatinny rails on other rifles and already have picatinny rings. I recall reading that some 34 mm scopes claimed it was harder to find dovetail rings that size. Some may just prefer the available picatinny rings.

What base did u use under this Picatinny? What brand, what model? I really hate we have 2 use two basis for mounting any ding (thing). i want a peep sight at the end of the receiver, far back as possible to maximize the sight radius. Butttttto can't bc the CZ in infinite wisdom placed a bolt release button-bar there. the only way seems 2B to change the U-notched leaf to a peep disc or put the 11 mm European dovetail base, then place a compatible peep sight unit at the back. Butttttto i can't find dattttto peep sight to fit datttttto PickAtinny base. Does any one know if a Leeman or Williams etc peep sight unit fit directly to this Europeeeen 11mm dovetail directly or indirectly? Just how? And if the dovetail on the older 455 compatible w this newer 457? Yah, being the biggest buyers of CZ units in the USA vs. all of the Europeeeen mkt, why oh why can they cater to us? Dattttto includdddoooo what so called their 'American' model. No American mounting, just same as any 457s sold here.
