Fantasy book rec... The Fairy Bargains of Prospect Hill It's more of a historical/fairy lore fantasy. Very earthy. Has a very old fashioned feel to it. I loved that it was completely different from your typical war in fairy land. It's based around 2 sisters in the early 1900s who believe in making trades with fairies to keep their family orchard going. One sister has bigger dreams but ends up in a bad situation and they use the bargains to find their way out. It's starts out a bit slow but the old fashioned feel was very cozy and comforting to me.

I've really really embraced being not a fantasy girlie myself. You should read the expanse series - it's technically space opera. merry xmas eve! i struggle with fantasy too. i just finished ninth house last night and it took me a minute to get into but by the last half i was certainly invested. im usually someone who devours a book but i started ninth house at the end of october hahah. it does have a bit of a YA feel with adult content as well. it could be worth a shot though! fantasy/horror/dark academia themes. stephen king’s “the talisman” is my fav fantasy book and his son joe hill is a fun writer too. my fav by him is heart-shaped box. hope you have a great rest of your holiday season! ♡

Another way to clip your bangs and have them not be so heavy looking is to hold the scissors parallel to your bangs. Just clip and move the scissors back and forth with each cut until you have the length you want. It’s kinda like thinning them at the same time.

Fern! You might not see this comment but I always recommend Uprooted as the perfect breakthrough fantasy book. Never met a person who didn't like it. Magic, adventure, cursed forests, a touch of romance, friendship...You can't go wrong! And it's a one-off so you won't be committing to a huge series. Merry Christmas! 😊

Just a thought: If you're using a VPN on your laptop or your wifi, google seems to constantly be battling with them (throttling, blocking, etc) so that might be slowing it down. Maybe try it without the VPN once to see if if makes a difference?

Oh I used the calm app to sleep. It would put me to sleep right away. I would listen to one over and over and eventually I got longer and longer into the story and eventually long enough to get to the end. Then I started a new story. Eventually I quit using it and didn’t re up the app.
