Hey DIY Dad. As a Dad myself living in the diy world, your videos are amazing. One of the best visually and verbally in installations. SUBSCRIBED! FYI after my successful install I agree about the amount of airflow, certainly less than expected. I didn’t have a wobble but wish there was more air. Again, brilliant video!

I appreciate the feedback (and not only because it was positive 🤣)

This video was very helpful. The thing I did different after hearing how you attached the fan blades I did that on the workbench. Way easier than doing overhead. Thanks for the video.

I have exposed beams and thought maybe that would be too difficult because of the them.. glad it was helpful!!

I put the blades on, on the ground, so not to fight the screws above my head. But we also have the shakes in ours. It wants to rotate in the mount too. But I agree, definitely top 3 in most difficult fans I have put up over the years.

Having used it for a few months I’m tempted to replace it - it looks great but just doesn’t move much air

@@AskDIYDad I'm going to attempt to replace the fan blades with something more typical in shape and see if that changes flow.

@@M4A3 If that works for you please let me know! Only issue I can see if you go longer is making sure you keep the fans tilted so they don't hit the center light

@AskDIYDad I will definitely keep you updated. I think the blades are too rough, and too artsy, to move air efficiently.

@@M4A3 It's a solid theory! If just swapping to more standard blades would increase airflow I'd call that a win

Following up on your truss build (part 1), what are the diamond shaped pieces where your truss meets the wall?

What about putting the blades on before you hang it up. That may be a lot easier
@AskDIYDad9 ай бұрын
It was bulky and uncomfortable to lift up there.. the blades would have made it worse I think.. but maybe if I had a simpler roof without the beams
@M4A35 ай бұрын
It is much easier to do the blades on the ground. Thats how I did it. Doesn't add much weight to it, and this thing is cumbersome either way.

Yeah I did the blades after hanging and would have been easier on the ground. Either way it is a tough fan either way

@@tommygarcia9005 it wasn’t bad at all. I was surprised it didn’t come with a remote. So I had to buy the universal one and installed it myself. Felt it was a 5/10 install

@mchestnut1970 lol out of the 2 fans you have done in your life? I kid, sort of....lol I've done hundreds, and this one is just cumbersome. Trying to stop the vibrations, and stop it from rotating in the mount. It's not hard by any means, especially for those experienced. But lets not call it a 5 out of 10, and cause someone who has never turned a screw, or chased a wire to attempt it on their own because of misleading information l.
