Good find. It makes sense to tune for a bigger tb. Especially with the ported intake. Those are a pretty big change combined.

This thing is definitely going to need a tune to decimate anything NA.

I have a (now discontinued) A2speed 84mm billet TB and used it without a tune initially, I don't remember the hesitation or flat spot you mentioned...it has been a while though. I got a Jay Greene tune on the car after getting the 84mm and it is a worthwhile investment if you want a little more from your car. Definately pepped it up. At the strip i can run high 11's in good cool/dry air, and low 12's in florida heat and humidity. Not bad for a basically stock scatpack with no weight reduction. I have a new take-off intake that i was going to clean up and smooth out, will probably need to get the tune tweaked to maximize things.

Hesitation was only on initial throttle input. The difference in the first and second race was Night and day. The Hemi responds amazingly well with just an aggressive ported intake manifold.

It could be any number of things- your quality of gas, the time of day you're testing, the weight of your car, tire wear, etc...Also, Mustangs do generally better on the top end anyways (4 valves per cylinder). Chargers are more aerodynamic, which comes into play in a 60-120. The TB is a supporting mod, just like the intake manifold and the air intake. A tune isn't required but it can benefit from a tune (like you said) , but a car can benefit from a tune _without_ all those mods, paradoxically.

Even with 4 valves The GT350 only edged me out by a foot at 150. Id say the tune is a must to maximize these mods.

Gotta know the right applications to make changes to the cars tune . Also , needs better gas and spark , ⚡️ also needs clean air and cooling radiator or external heat exchanger . Maybe some great fans idk i
