Yours is the only tutorial which bothers to mention the direction of the fan, so thanks for that. It seems that many KZbin tutorials install the fan the wrong way around, either pushing air back into the case, or else affixing it to the wrong side of the cooler. The manual does not help in this regard. I received an extra fan with my cooler and would like to try out the 'push/pull' method.

Anyone reading this DO NOT overtighten the larger nuts at 4:43. It will crack the terribly made plastic backplate. If you do crack one and still use it for a while, it’s almost impossible to get back off down the track. There’s nothing to grab a hold of properly without pliers and they can easily scratch the traces on the board.
@skullsmitten2 жыл бұрын
really helpful guide! i was very confident with your assistance :) unfortunately it looks like the bracket is a smidge off for my AM4, and i was sure i put the backplate on right... will update my comment if i make any progress 🥲 update: fixed! i had flipped the brackets upside down and backwards trying to work out how they connected-and they have a slight curve to them, so when i ended up attaching them backwards they didnt fit lmao... so it's all installed now! and it's a lot quieter than my old racket-making one, 10/10! had a brief scare thinking i shorted the gpu or motherboard in the process, but luckily it turned out i only connected a few things wrong after wrapping up my work (my hdmi cables go straight into the graphics card, which i forgot and put them in the normal ports, lol) thanks again! great video, i wouldn't have made it this far without all the great footage you provided

Mounting barkets for the fan were pretty underwhelming, also had to staighten some of the heatsinks as they came bent. Pretty good compared to stock amd cooler, about 15 degrees cooler under load. Side note had a hard time getting the stock cooler off because the thermal paste that came with it acted like glue. My 5600x actaully ripped out of the cpu socket bc the bond was so tight. Luckly no damage to the chip or the motherboard, got everything working in the end.

Don't you want the air going in the other direction? It is pulling the air to the front, but that just gets met with the incoming air from your front fans? Shouldn't it be pulling air from front to back?

sounds like a dumb question (which im sure it is), what should i rub the thermal paste off with from my previous cooler as i dont know if i have to be soft with it or has to be eg a microfibre cloth

I would just get a paper towel and wipe off the thermal paste. It can be stuck on the cpu so be sure to get it all. Just be careful not to get any paste on the motherboard. (That could cause a short)

Damn, the later variations of these Hyper 212s were much more forgiving to install compared to the earlier versions. @ 9:30 shouldnt the CPU cooler be plugged into CPU_FAN (usually located at the top portion of the mobo) rather than CHA_FAN?
@JJOOKER Жыл бұрын
Its work the same the difference is that in CPU_fan the cooler will slow or work faster according to the cpu temperature , but you can use a software for it too... You can even connect chassis fans in the CPU_fan but they will not work like chassis fans...
