When they put the phone lines in they must have run them on the surface and poured the stone over top. Good reason to put conduit in for power, phone and cable if they are going to be underground. I have to say you have about the best touch for an equipment operator I have ever seen. Great job.

You would think that would make people nervous. The home owner or client is thr ultimate boss. I guess when you are confident in your competence it doesn't matter. At least the homeowner is smart enough to know how to stay clear of danger and away from the work path.

Yeah owner/ foreman haha it’s always fun when they come watch. Some ppl hate it but I’ve never really cared heck I’ve let them use a skid steer and stuff as well if it’s on site not being used if they have know how anyways. One time had a guy literally ask if I’d bring a brush cutter for it and let him use it over the weekend he paid the hourly rate but did the little bit of work himself. It’s risky but the main thing is make sure they know what they are doing and have alittle faith

I didn't see anyone mention it, but starting at 17:02, look at the lower left side of the screen at the rearview mirror. Chris scoots forward to see where the wires are and runs the bucket with his hands practically behind him. Amazing!

As a plumber for most of my life, I was responsible for a lot of utilities. Only by accident did we ever find a phone line before it found us. Well done, you've given me new hope for operators.

Chris is a heck of an operator dude probably does it in his sleep so he never gets rusty. You won’t find very many as good as him at his age. I don’t have the fancy buckets yet they are ordered but he sure knows how too slick something up. I’ve always said if he ever wants to relax and quit beating around he would be one hell of a cake Decorator haha

Like you said in the beginning “they said if we cut them, then they’ll come out and replace them, no big deal” the fact that you applied critical thinking skills and technique to avoid any further difficulties on the customer is what makes repeat customers The acknowledgment that someone other than yourself might have to go out of their way and your ability to mitigate that will make a life-time customer! This project does appear to have quite a bit of digging,laying pipes and setting up a drainage system that Withstand time, and future electrical.impressive as always.liked your observer there,was taking it all in.gonna be nice project for you,will just show off more of job skill and work ethic.kudos 👍👍👍😎😎😎

I have a 1 acre pond being dug this week. It will average about 22 ft deep and have 3 shallow areas about 1/4 acre, one near shore on the opposite side from the cabin. Let the bears go there to cool down. Then near the middle it will be about 4 ft deep and one other spot away from the shore. They found a huge boulder that appears to be dictating the 2nd shallow spot. The lake will have 2 aerators. Opposite sides of the pond at 28 ft deep. There will be one jet to create a false current to keep the weeds in check. It will be a trout pond. I’ll be putting in hybrids that reach 4 lbs in 18 - 24 months with a fish feeder operating there. The guy has 4 more days of digging, but I fly out for a fishing trip tomorrow evening!! Gonna mis the completion, but it will have water in it when I get back. We are running 2cwells directly into it, there’s rain in the forecast so there will be runoff and I was able to secure a line from a small creek that’s nearby and can pump for 4 days out of there. Hoping it will be 1/2 full. Will see on the 22nd!! Heh heh. It’s fun being the spectator. I can have my coffee and watch from the deck of the cabin. My buddies have been coming by as well!! As many as 6 of us at some points!! Haha. Stay safe, Eh!

It was interesting that the land owner was there watching for a while sitting in a lawn chair. Just shows how entertaining Chris working can be.

This, boys and girls, is the perfect illustration of a precision, 100% controlled digging to the inch, then pipe laying with your companion in a dangerous situation but in total trust of the 60 ton big machine operator. All the while in a very tight spot and under the watchful eye of the project engineer and under pressure from a coming thunder storm. Textbook material. Awesome Chris, awesome. 😳 👍

Chris here in Australia we have a system that you have to contact the necessary companies ie power phone or gas they are then required to come out and mark the lines at your expense, if you don’t call them and you cut a line or worse rip up a gas line then you are in very deep doo doo and the penalty is exorbitant in more ways than one , the finesse you handle your machine with is outstanding well done and thank you from Australia

I always had more than one hammer in my toolbox. Impressive project. The idea of keeping the field runoff out of the pond showed that the civil engineer knew what he was doing. The 4" pipe will allow the utilities to run a 2" orange tube inside which will make running the fiber a lot easier. Wow, found the cable too. Great. Your observer got to watch you in real time.

In the uk we have colour coded ducts for cables. Red high voltage, green broadband, blue water, grey telecoms etc there has to be a minimum 100mm(4”)of sand, and the corresponding colour of tape above the sand then back filled with what ever material you dig out. And we have to use CAT scans before we dig

Chris I worked for a civils firm for a year and we always had to be so careful with power lines and phone lines below. One inspection hole after another to make sure they actually were as shown on the towns plans. Well done with that........Im guessing its the client making himself right at home there - loved it when you said "Now we talking". Other people would be so bugged by clients or anyone hanging around 🙂

We had problem like on one of the ponds at course. We did the same thing but we add a chanel drain / iron gate drain alone the entire hill side about 10 feet from the water edge. That drained into the box than out into the woods like you're doing. Only downside you have to weed eat the drain so grass will stop the water from going in the drain. Interesting job with this one

Smart to put in the fiber pipe. Here in Canukistan our tel/data pipes have to be orange. I saw you were using dark grey DBII which, here is for underground electrical. I'm watching you scratch for that tel conductor. Reminds me that Ditch Tape is a wonderful thing for excavator operators. ;) It's supposed to be buried half way between the top of the pipe and the surface. The real stuff is 6" wide and you can run it side by side. Bring the tips up to the surface so you can find it easily. OK, next videos FYI is about . . . ;)
