Installing a Motorcycle USB Charger ! Super Easy !

The part I was most interested in seeing was the connections to the battery and to know how to do that. Sadly there was no focus on it

Ah apologies, it was simple. Black to negative, red to positive. Nothing fancy at all

The side your inline fuse is on is the positive side, the positive terminal can be identified by a red cap or on the battery a positive symbol near the terminal

The battery connection just attaches to the battery, unscrew the terminals and place the wire connections on. However, it will always have a live feed so don't leave the phone etc plugged in

No not at all as long as nothing is plugged in to the USB then the charge is going nowhere. If you leave a phone connected with the bike off then yes

Are you sure there is no power drain even when there is no phone connected and the bike is off?

Did you have to put in a power relay for the charger ?

No not at all. It works absolutely fine without. However, when I upgrade the indicators to LEDs I will need a relay

@@RevZolution I'm in Ireland and about to get my learner permit to start lessons etc really love the look of the Vulcan s and because I'm vertically challenged it might be best fit for me lol

Honest answer....I have no idea. Its just a 12v usb charger plugged directly to the battery. Personally, I've used the same one on all my bikes and never had any issues.

Yes. If it's direct wired to battery, stator is safe

What about the heat from engine? Will it melt the cable going to the front

In the UK It's £41.95 plus an hours labour at £80. Far cheaper the way I've done it and also very very simple to install 👌

In Estonia OEM outlet is 67€, relay 21€.

Does this set up (without switch or relay) drain your battery? I have the same set up on mine but I disconnect from the battery if I'm not riding for a week or so.

I've not had an issue with it at all. As there's no phone drawing power from it, it doesn't effect the battery on the bike. But if you're not riding the bike for prolonged periods, it's worth disconnecting the battery so you don't damage the battery by it running flat. Or place it on a trickle charger like I do to my bike
