This is my next project for a bit, installing a new culvert and driveway entrance to a future burger and ice cream shop. I also have to build an acre parking lot so lots of work on this site. This is for the same customer I did the detention pond for, this is his new business venture. I had to follow the guidelines of the State on this culvert so that's why it was backfilled in clay. This is all the clay we dug out of the detention pond that is being used. I tried to get as much of the install of the pipe but didn't have the camera on video when we installed the coupler between the two pieces. I also got my new Werk Brau gtrading rake in which I plan to use on small brush and clearing jobs. It's seems like it will be a handy attachment and pick up less dirt than a bucket. Hopefully you guys are enjoying the bigger projects I know I am. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #WerkBrau

I can feel your pain in dealing with the state versus the county. (Same in Texas. State highways get a lot of federal money, think "fed" when you see conflicting and illogical requirements.) You are to be commended on your positive outlook on that. However, no one is expected to remain calm and composed when installing a clamp on metal flare on a culvert, it's okay, go ahead and scream and cuss, you can edit it out later! 😆

Good looking installation job for the driveway pipe. Your specifications for 'the install' was pretty much the normal procedure for the Highway Department I contracted with. They wanted to use onsite material for backfill, just keep rocks 3" and larger away from within 6" of the pipe......and the pipe was metal. Only plastic pipe required special bedding/backfill.

I think a rake is an awesome attachment for a mini and I bet you'll use it more than you think. Grapple buckets are nice for skidsteers too. Be very careful about saying that you have a attachment fetish, you might get home after work and have an attachment you don't want. 😜 as always great job! Here in southeast Idaho we generally just backfill our culverts with what's on site, it's just easy and cheap because you're not having to pay extra for material and the freight.

Thanks I think it will be pretty handy I’m anxious to find out. 🤣🤣 that’s true don’t want to end up with that attachment 😁. It’s interesting to hear what different places want or use. @@eliteearthworksllc you betchya. Ya I can see where clay would seal off from letting water flow around the culvert and keep it from eroding but would need some Rip rap to keep the water from eroding the clay. Our pit run here is awesome for building but the water I believe would just run right through it because it's just river rock and sand. I'm sure you've seen it on some of Jpaydirts videos, I'm only about 25 miles from where he's at and pretty much all of southeast Idaho is made up of the same materials.

Ya we have really good gravel but in most areas we have 2 to 4 feet of awesome topsoil to remove to get to our gravel but you go 7 miles up the valley to the next county and they only have like 2 inches of dirt before you get to gravel. That rake would also make a great little multi-shank ripper for loosening up hard ground. And Jeff really is a great guy.

FYI: One note about the use of corrugated metal pipe on flat slopes. If the slope is less than one percent, it is highly recommended to utilize a smoothbore pipe as water will lay in the corrugations and prematurely rust out the bottom of the pipe. If the governing body insist on the use of a metal pipe, you could use a spiral ribbed metal pipe (3/4" x 3/4" x 7-1/2" corrugations).

I really like that new brush "claw." It was a good purchase, I'd say. The ridiculous decisions about materials that come out of these state/county/muni governments is enough to test anyone's patience. Why anyone would buy that galvanized garbage is a mystery to me with the plastic stuff being so much better. Somebody probably gets a kickback. A few years back when I had a short stint as a local Supervisor I fully supported my road guys going all plastic -they loved it. Since then a little backwards thinking has moved back in and the galvanized has mysteriously returned.

Looked interesting. Always amazes me what rules that you have to follow that are ridiculous!!! Got a question for you Brandon, what video editing software do you use? I was thinking about making a video of the stupid stuff I've been doing around the farm with the equipment. Just for me to have as a novelty, No one else would want to watch it! LOL

Yeah some of this stuff is just dumb lol. I use Adobe Premiere Elements on my desktop. I have KineMaster on my phone it’s a free editing software and pretty easy to use. Hit me up if you need any help. Appreciate you watching man

Don't ya just love working with a bureaucratic entity making the rules on how to do your job? You could have been finished by the time you adhered to all their rules. BTW, having an "attachment addiction" can have different connotations in certain localities. Be careful with who hears you say that. Lol. Stay safe dude!

What a waste. That’s a horrible excuse for a rake. Honestly I expect better out of someone who considers himself “elite” clearly the fingers are too far apart and the leaves will go right though. So unprofessional. Gosh.
