My goals with the videos greatly changed too. The early ones were a place I could direct callers to see my work, so they were not a priority. When I realized people were actually watching and learning from my stuff I knew I had to respond by increasing the quality. I really don’t know much about making videos and it was a steep learning curve for me.

Bro. That part that he said that it’s always important to get the homeowner out there while you’re working to make sure is absolutely correct. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hired some guys to come do something and by the time it was done it wasn’t exactly what I expected or what I thought I told them. There are certain things I feel are important to verify with the homeowner. Sometimes you don’t know exactly what those parts are when you’re working on someone’s house so just having them check periodically throughout the important steps is vital

Great job. Home owner must be thrilled. Love to see water going where you want it. Only thing I see missing is Matt of steel rebar laying on a bed of gravel and concrete poured over to add strength to concrete. But then I live in Northern BC where temps range from 30c to -25 c which would cause frost heaves without steel rebar. Your company is doing amazing work❤❤. One thing you should add to business is gutter cleaning so you solve problem of water flow from peak of roof to final drain.

Amen. What a great video ! ~I am the flood control for our neighborhood, including two streets and an alley. If I don't clear off debris from and open the storm grate in front of our house--the lowest point here--our garage will flood again . The city came out about two years, dug down to the water table for two drains and connected each to other nearby drains to accommodate more water flow. When they were finished, I told the city engineer and the contractor what a nice job they did....and that I would be sending them another video when it flooded again--every time. And the same problem still exists...all the tree seeds, leaves and other stuff that flows with the water, without any redesign for the excess trash. ~Just for fun, I took a video a few years ago of me rowing an old windsurfing board board back and forth in the street.... And still no more response to emails I've sent regarding this decades old (fifty plus years) failure. 🥸

Your attention to detail is good ,the channel drain looks like a good solution ,what I see other out fits do with a heavy concrete truck is use old ply wood laid down in the driveway keeps it from rutting it out .
@GCFD Жыл бұрын
I knew we would be in there fixing the approach so we fixed the ruts and compacted. It's a trade off between using the buggy to move the concrete or get the truck in there and then fix the ruts.

Thank you for not running the plate compactor over the dirt before seed. I hate when people do that because it leads to the grass raising the level of the dirt over the concrete. It makes me insane.
@GCFD Жыл бұрын
The grass will rise as the basic process of soil formation over time.
@activemanishere Жыл бұрын
@@GCFD agreed so why come at it from too high to begin with! People compact the soil to exactly the height of the concrete then wonder why it's 2 inches high the next year and having drainage issues. No compaction should ever be used in the top 4-10 inches of soil.
