Hey Boss, I am really liking that collet/screen holder you have mounted on the right side. Anything you might change on that? Assume the holes you made to mount it did not intrude on anything? Did you just make the box out of aluminum or sheet metal?

That thing is probably 25+ years old, installed by my predecessor. It's got a couple clips to hold a drawing too. Very useful. The new holes didn't interfere with anything.

Behind the extrusion on the z axis scale, I am assuming there are pads that it rests on? Are these independently fastened or floating behind extrusion?

@@chopsmitty I think he was asking about the backup spar on the knee. At least that's what I took from the question, as the quill scale install was pretty clear.
