Dude your videos are getting seriously awesome. I have been watching since your first video with this Tacoma. Your b-roll, editing, audio, everything has gotten so much better! Real joy to watch your videos man

Yes man! So stoked to hear this! I do a lot in the background to make it better for you guys so I really appreciate you noticing 🙏🏼

Looks good. You were right about the visual balance. If it were me...I'd add a fairing. Something home-made to give you your Prinsu fix. I have an Xtracab Prinsu that they don't make anymore, but I too am having some reticence about installing - I do not have sunroof though. you absolutely made the right decision and it worked out really well! I'd rethink the zip ties though. Especially without a fairing you're going to get lift and add some UV exposure and work hardening and you could have some fastener failure. Probably/probably not. Agree with others, your channel quality is coming up, congrats!!

Thanks for the insights! With the campershell coming in a couple weeks, I may have to reconsider the roof rack positioning. Once situated, fairing next along with more permanent brackets for the solar panel! Cheers and stay tuned for a fairing video!

Love how it looks and Im so glad I came across your channel. I bought the same LED's you have on my 2000 and now I plan to get this roof rack ! Thank you for the 1st gen love ! Cant wait to see what else you do to your truck !

Keep it coming bro! Love your videos and now I want this roof rack cuz I don’t have to drill holes lol. I need to do my timing belt soon so I hope all goes well!

I really like your channel -- it is thoughtful, informative and entertaining and I look forward to new videos from you. Do you think maybe you breached the waterproof door seals? I guess you could spray some water on it to find out. If it leaks it shouldn't be too hard to fix though. Hope you're having a great new year.
@ConnorLee Жыл бұрын
Thanks James! We've actually had some heavy rain here lately since the install and I am happy to say the door seals haven't been compromised. I was worried that it would create cabin wind noise too from the doors, especially at highway speeds, but none whatsoever. I did also soak my door seals in Simple Green for 48 hours to freshen them up so if your door seals are cruddy, the roof rack might compromise them further.

Thanks for posting! Looking into but man you skipped from bear with me to bam installed lol! Nice to see it on there and now I’m wanting one :) humbling of you to post your oops parts as well! Appreciate you.

@@DeanisIslam haha dang I can make another video on the install because it was some trial and error! Plus now with the solar panel on top, it might be a good update for you guys! Thanks for the comment friend!

@@ConnorLeeah man that would be great!! Have you done a full energy system video? I looked through your videos and didn’t see one (maybe I missed it) but that would be awesome as I’m trying to figure out how to set up solar and all!

@ConnorLee Looks great man! Def get or fab a wind fairing. Cuts down (or eliminates) the noise, plus minimizes drag and saves some gas too.
@ConnorLee9 ай бұрын
Thanks! What material do you think would be best for the fairing?
@tylerward79919 ай бұрын
@@ConnorLee I have a Yakima setup and the fairing is 3/16" thick, looks like plexiglass to me.
@rtshort Жыл бұрын
You picked a good one. Makes the truck look much better, still have your Sunroof functional and room for the Solar Panel too. Didn't even know they made them that didn't require drilling holes in the roof. Nothing wrong with that as long as you use silicone, but it needs to be put on both sides of the hole to stop rust. That would have meant taking out the head liner.

I just wanted to keep it as oem as possible so the bolt on option is wonderful! Thank for tuning in brotha 🤘🏼

Greatly appreciate your content 👊 I'm looking to do the same on my 96 Chevy k2500, with very similar configuration and lines. Your post on roof rack parts saved me some serious time on the-googles. Looking forward to more content. 🤝

It’s a lot I bought from E-Trailer. Just plug in your car and read the vehicle applications carefully. Should be for the ext cab, assuming your truck is the same as mine

I had a similar rack for a 94 4Runner and had pretty bad wind noise due to weather stripping getting squeezed and the door not closing properly. Do you have the same issues?

Could you add the parts #’s to the comments? They are too blurry to make out in the video. I’m sure a lot of people would appreciate it.
@ConnorLee27 күн бұрын
The company I bought them from has since removed them from their site so I’m not sure what part numbers you would need to piece it together or if it’s even possible. I bought mine from e-trailer.com
