Definitely get a custom exhaust before getting it remapped. That way the missus can get the sound she wants without it being too much, if she wants subtle rather than brash.

I've got a ED35 too and love her!! Make sure you've done the PCV to latest gen or deleted and HPFP cam before you map it bud, and I can recommend the Miltek catback sounds lovely! Also might want to remove the "sound speaker" thing under the driver side of the windscreen scuttle

Intake then when you put on the exhaust get it tuned. Trust me as some one who just went stage 2 unitronic on their mk6 it is a BLAST.

I have a stage 2+ 6R that was featured on TR Hamzas channel a few years ago when I had just had it mapped.. I still love driving my car every day… if you love the mk6 platform, save up the pennies, and get yourself a 6R before they go up in value, as they have bottomed out, and are now going up in price. You won’t regret it mate 👌🏼

Getting it mapped will make it way louder, the spool and the recirculation, mine sounded like it easily doubled and I’m still running stock tip, making the exhaust louder drowns it out heaps too, cool seeing a manual mk6 gti there are about two in all of New Zealand 😫

Please keep us updated on the misfire issue. My Cupra does the same on idle and while we changed and tested everything, it still misfires at idle. Also did n80 vavle, pcv, injectors, coils and plugs, carbon clean, compression test etc

I definitely will do, valves getting cleaned in the morning so if that doesn't solve it I'll move onto the next option 😂

Does it log on the ecu as a misfire? Because on idle the vvt does chop and change the revs, its quite normal. My cupra did it too, not an issue. If it's a proper misfire you'll get it pinging codes

@@andyslater9067 initially it did. Showed a constant cyl 3 misfire (didn’t move when swapping coils/plugs), live measuring showed 50 to 200> misfires. After all the parts/works mentioned above done, now it misfires at idle but doesn’t show misfire on scan… Weird?

Maybe timing chain also, those engines had a tensioner issue and it'll rattle and sound like valves

@@chroniccrypto75 Yeah, it also has something to do with the chain tensioner right? I know for a fact my GTI (2008 Mk5) has never had it's chain and tensioner done, so I'm getting that done soon.

TSI engines suffer from timing chain and tensioner pulley issues the fact it rattles so much on idle and its misfiring sounds like a timing a chain issue I'd get that checked asap

Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, spotted a few things wrong in the video so far I'm sad to say, first being you didn't make air filter/turbo noises when holding the filter for the first time.
