That's so cute. Great job. The hens are growing up nicely. They start laying around six months old or so. Hens are very smart and social. Once one figures something out the others will too. I installed one of these doors on my coop. All the hens got it pretty quickly but one. Hot Wings my Copper Barnevellder just couldn't figure it out. Took her nearly two weeks. We had to catch her every night because she couldn't get back in. Then we started having trouble with the door would open and close on its own. We had it on manual, with a remote, so it should not have been doing that. Also we had it powered to an outlet. The worst thing that happened was it closed and we didn't know before night time and all the chickens were left out in the dark. When we went to get the nightly count it was so scary to find none and we had to find them in the dark. So it's still on the coop but unplugged sadly. We couldn't figure out why it was going up and down by itself.
