Thank you very much.. I too am adding a tach to my 86 F250.. Tried wiring it to the - coil, jumping all over.. wanted to find the original tach wire (that you pointed out! ) YAY!!! .. We'll see if using that one fixes the problem. Will touch back with you and follow up on this comment, if it works.. I know I've seen other people having same problems with tach bouncing around..

Did it work? My tach wire has no continuity and running off of the distributed doesnt work
