An easy way to get rid of the light that is always on is unplug the lower red cable. The lower red cable is the power for the AL or always on light. The light that comes on when you turn the switch on will still work to!!

I added a 2 gang nilight switch in the same spot, after watching your video. The only problem I'm having is determining which is the orange wire/gray tracer. My eyes are so bad, both the orange wires look to have the same color tracer on them. Any way for you to pull your panel and describe which one you used? Thanks, and great video!

With the flat part of the factory plug facing down, the orange wire is on the right. It's on the side with the two white wires and a yellow. At 10:11 in the video you can really get a good view of it.

So for the power in and out its the furthest left plug middle and bottom? Kinda confused here

So for each switch, the middle left prong is power in. Bottom left prong is power out.

So when you put in a new set of lights and run the wires to the switch all you need to install on the switch is the new lights yellow wire?

how would i wire it if i dont want the lights on the rocker switch to turn on only when i have turned on one of the switches?
@RoadandReel2 жыл бұрын
If you just want it to light up when the switch is on, then you would run a jumper wire from the prong that powers your off-road lights back to the prong on the back of the switch that makes it light up.

I have a set of podlights and a bar light on my truck. Each has its own wiring harness with separate clicker to turn it on and off. Using the same rocker switch panel that you use on this video, how would you hook up the sets of lights with separate wiring harnesses and clickers to the rocker switch panel. Interested in the setup that you have. Thanks
@RoadandReel9 ай бұрын
You would ground your lights in a common area and run power to each one with its own fuse. The small power wires from the relay would go to whichever switch you wanted to run them. The power to the switch would come from the harness the same way I did it, but it would be split to tie in to all your switches.
@usmarinenapinoy9 ай бұрын
@@RoadandReel thanks for the response. I do have the hilight wiring harness for both the bar light and the pod lights. Each harness has its own clicker and positive and negative wires that are connected directly to the truck battery. Just so I know I’m clear, in order to connect the rocker switch panel to both wiring harnesses for the pod lights and bar light, the clickers must be removed/cut, and wires that were connected to the clickers (small red, black, and white or yellow) must then be connected to the rocker switch. This is where I’m somewhat not clear…do I connect all small wires (red, black, white or yellow) for each harness to each rocker switch? And same for the wires for the other harness? Thanks
@RoadandReel9 ай бұрын
@@usmarinenapinoy without seeing it, I'm guessing your lights have outer and inner bulbs. I'm guessing those are the yellow/white and red. Those power the bulbs and the black is the ground. You'll cut the switch side off and wire those to the new rocker switched on side. Black is ground almost always. You rockers will pull power from the harness. Power will run through the switch and into the yellow/white and red. Those go to the relay input and the relay pulls power from a fused battery wire and a big wire (probably red) will come out of the relay and power the red and yellow/white wires. Ground your black wires to the frame somewhere.

I’m not real good at electrical so I was wondering what you did from the battery to the switch. I’m trying to do this on my 2015 Ram, but am lost in terms of fuses and/or relays. How did you run yours?
@RoadandReel3 жыл бұрын
Power runs through the relay and to the light. When the switch inside is flipped, it turns the relay on which then let's power pass through it to the light. If I didn't use a relay, then I would run huge wire from the battery to the switch then to the light, so the switch would be breaking the circuit. Instead, I can use the relay to break the power in the circuit by running a small power wire to the relay from my switch, inside, that turns it on or off.

What is yellow wire for How did u setup tha yellow wire Where is tha yellow wire connected to and from where

Does your 2500 have 2 batteries? I’m installing a single switch for running lights in my 3500 which has two batteries and everything is fine until I click the switch on and then it blows the fuse. I installed a wire harness from Nightlight that came with the switch. I have checked to make sure the positive and negative are correct at the light connection and still can’t find why I am blowing a fuse.
