Sir, for your three (3) videos in the construction of your truck's bedrails, headache rack and mounting system for your light-bar, paint job and electrical setup ... a most excellent set of informative videos. You did your major projects so simply constructed, explained so well as you were constructing them, overall paint job and electrical setup, that you made me feel I was there helping you all the way. You Sir, made it look so simple to construct this time-consuming project, yet produced such an "elegant" home-made job. Your construct ended rivaling a professional job, and yet you made it happen "your" way all-around. Your truck's lights, plus the light-bar's, makes for sone scary sunlight. You are no doubt scaring the bejesus out of all those crazy furry friends, wondering just what has happened to their world at night, and reaching for their "Kaopectate". I congratulate you Sir, for a job simply very well made, and thank you for your hard work, as published.

It's better to use a different slot. The slot he is using provides 12V even when the vehicle is off, but you may want to use a different slot for something that doesn't need 12V when the vehicle is off or even more, requires a fuse of a different rating.

No because then you wouldn't be able to replace the wiring easily and it would also be easier for water to get into the bars.

Well, there actually *_is_* only _one_ Pos. & _one_ Neg. on a car battery, so I don't really see any 'problem' . . . . .

Nah, the alternator is always feeding power to the battery. So the battery will last as long as usual.

Yeah, I'm sure you get what you paid for but its not the right price for my project. They have cheaper led bars out there.

@hellhound90818 жыл бұрын
Ozan Gültekin I wasn't questioning the quality. I have a cheap 50$ 24" for a reverse bar that is really bright, eventually the LEDs will go out a lot quicker than Rigid.. Only reason why I know a screw over 10" is because I read that somewhere recently.

+Chris Maroney i know u werent questioning it. oh and also, all LEDs will last about the same i think.

Great vid as always and love the whole channel! Just thought I'd mention something as I'm an electrician and the switch wiring made me go 'what?' for a sec. If the 12v feed from the fusebox was in the centre pin of a standard (no LED) switch, it would ground the battery in one of the two switch positions, blowing the fuse. In a bog standard toggle switch pins 1 and 2 are connected in one position, pins 2 and 3 are connected in the other. So if you used such a switch with the connections suggested here it would not work and would be very dodgy, especially if plugged in without a fuse. I did a quick google and see the correct pinout of the LED switches usually used in automotive is as in the video, the internal circuitry is wired for that connection scheme. But just in case someone thought that 'this is how all switches with 3 pins are wired' and tried to use another sort of switch I thought I'd point out that the standard config of a toggle switch would lead to blown fuses (hopefully at best). General rule, just double check the pinouts and make sure you know what goes where and don't connect the battery to ground ;) No fault with the vid, just thought I'd add in that extra info!

lol when i put light bars in my grille we just grounded it and took the other wire into the cab and it plugs into the cigarette lighter, simple but it works out great, especially because i hate wiring and electronics
@alldayedcers94548 жыл бұрын
So you just wired it to the cigarette lighter wiring or you used a plug?
@benjaminmasters53758 жыл бұрын
Plug, i insert a plug into the cigarette lighter which is attached right to the light bars via a long wire
@alldayedcers94548 жыл бұрын
Cool, and it works like a charm?
@benjaminmasters53758 жыл бұрын
All Day EDCers works out nicely, for a person who doesnt understand wiring and electronics well its perfect, no worrys about fuses and other stuff, just the positive wire plugging in works great
@ZombieCakeHD8 жыл бұрын
Benjamin Masters so you just wire the positive to a plug that goes into the cigarette lighter, then grounded the light bar to your frame?

+Brennan Callan As someone who holds 27 college degrees and 3 WWE titles, it's cute to see someone throwing out their degree count in a KZbin conversation. If getting a degree teaches you nothing else, it's that being clear and concise in your communications with others is of paramount importance, as knowing how to communicate lets you translate that giant warehouse of knowledge into something you can relate to others (hopefully without coming across as condescending!). Being needlessly wordy or skilled in nitpicking the works of others is not the same thing as being intelligent.

Bit of extra effort could have seen all the wires from the light bar in the metal framework. That's what I was expecting form such a guy as talented as Chris. But that small thing aside, what an absolutely amazing project. Bravo that man
