Unplugging the AC unit would give you air-bag errors. So good thing you keept it plugged in :) Google maps in offlinemode is due to no internet?

No extras needed. This unit is designed for S60/V70/XC70, but pre facelift. I have the same unit for five years now, happy with it. Just the GPS module seems a bit weak, but usually succeeds to find the route again after a while.

Nope no static at all! The only noise you guys can hear from the video is coming from the ac "buttons unit" which is making a huming sound

Unfortunately if you have the water fall console I don't think this exact unit could fit! Since the radio and cd player is built into the climate control panel!

No! After installing it you will not be able to use the steering wheel buttons!

You can if you get the correct kit, check out Crutchfield, I just ordered a new deck and harness that supports steering wheel controls for our 2004 V70

I’ve done the same with my own P2 XC70, I should’ve sprang for the canbus kit so I could retain my steering wheel controls 😢 But it looks and sounds great 😊

Unfortunately because of the way the radio unit is made on the S80 it is extremely hard to have something for it! Since the radio is connected on the waterfall design to most of the ac and heat controls! There are some Chinese options for head units but it would mean I would need to cut out a hole in the to of the dash which I'm not to inclined in doing...
