@DoctorElectricYouTube3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment King, you should replace or fit a fuse with the next size fuse available higher than the rated current, in this case it would be a 1 Amp fuse, many Electricians will fit a 3 Amp fuse as 1 Amps aren't readily available, if you choose to do that then it's your choice. Thanks for watching!

Watched again fellas 👌👍 I’m getting my mirror ready for the sparks to connect up I’ve done the plaster board back box bit with multi tool got an unswitched fcu for behind mirror and a switched fcu for up in loft easily accessible, just a question when he connects up wil he go of lighting circuit (nearest jb or pendant for live feed) or will it come of a socket? only reason I ask is the nearest socket will be a pain to get to rather than lighting.dont worry I’m not doing a diy dave and connecting it up myself I literally am getting a sparks in 👍 I just want to make life easier and do any chiselling out ready if need to go off socket etc cheers 👍👍

Looking to fit an LED mirror myself like this. Great video. How did you know where to cut the square and miss the noggin?
@DoctorElectricYouTube3 жыл бұрын
You can usually tell where the noggins/plaster are by tapping the wall, when it's hollow it's a bit echoey, when there's a noggin or plasterboard there's no echo
@NeilBriscoe-g3f11 ай бұрын
Surely there’s at least a 15mm gap at rear of the mirror to allow for the FCU , I take it the mirror just hooks over the mounting screws??

Hey love watching your videos guys (best electrical ones on KZbin), really entertaining with lots of useful info. Have to say though, that you're pretty over the top with BS1362 fuses. The calc P=IV in this instance is generally used to avoid overload ie fixed load taking out the fuse, so the calc which gave 0.16A means that as long as that BS1362 is above 0.16A (Ib

Hi Guys can i fit an Eletric light mirror on a downstairs toilet drill through the wall into next room next to a light switch and use the light switch as a power source !!

It would depend on how the lights are wired, ask an electrician. Thanks for watching.

On unidentified switches and switch fused connection units you could flick the switch on test with continuity tester or put fuse in and do the same type of continuity tests to identify permanent connection point and load out. Not Voltaire who was a important philosopher but Count Alessandro Volta inventor of the Voltaic pile/chemical battery thereby proving that electricity is not just generated by living things. The SI unit of electric potential (voltage) was given as volt after his discoveries. Watch professor Jim Al-Khalili’s series on electricity on KZbin give many of your students Dean a fascinating history of electrical and magnetic discoveries. Loving your work mate upwards and wish you both the best in life and work. Nicest sparks on KZbin. Why am I called Mathman it’s because I have loved mathematics and used it in my career as a economist/quant since school and university in my research at university when I was a research fellow/Professor and when I worked for the UK government and Bank of England and then in the USA at the IMF in Washington DC. And still using it in high level physics and electrical learning especially in electromagnetic theory, quantum theory and plasma physics.

@@TheAdamEdward it’s no big deal just take the attitude you can learn from anyone young or old, treat people with respect even if they may not be respectful to you. The language of mathematics pervades many diverse subjects trade and non- trade based. Both of you are doing excellent work and the time you take in doing these videos are invaluable to younger apprentices. We definitely want to see greater professionalism, technical ability in this field and root out bad practice that not only undermine the industry but create unsustainable pay structures as electricians race to the bottom, worse still it creates dangerous electrical installations. It happens in many industries and fields. To be great at anything it’s not just the learning and training and experience but is far more related to attitude and whether that desire to do great work comes from within you. That’s what sets apart bad, good and great sparks.
