Knowing things like your state of charge when you’re charging is something I took for granted with my old Nissan LEAF so I struggled with my Kia e-Niro First Edition a bit in this respect. Along comes OVMS: a small black box that plugs into my e-Niro (and many other cars) and, using the free app, gives me loads of stats like state of charge, whether a charge has failed, 12v battery charge and much more.
