Yes it is safe. You can add up to 6kgs in the top box

Can we just remove the OEM supplied plastic plate and install the top box plate directly with the spacers? Having two plates and spacers might also need lengthier screws I guess.

Hi, we can install upon the plastic plate itself, no need of lengthier screws. It will fit perfectly. I enquired with AutoEngina team before installing, they only told this procedure.
