this week I'm doing the electrics and plumbing. I've decided to fit an inverter which means one of the 3 240v sockets will work when your on the road ! I've also got shore power, 240v battery charger, consumer unit, on board water tank and a pump.

Hi Karl. Another excellent video, but they could be a bit longer ('cos they're great to watch). You might find that a plastic ball from BB gun dropped into the sight tube will help you see the level at a glance. Further, and bearing in mind Ray Westwood's comment about filling, once the BB gun ball is in the tube, it can be constricted slightly at the top so that the ball will not come back out. This will then act as a 'stop valve' for a strong filler situation, and prevent water from escaping during filling. Regards Mark in the UK

Oooooooo....I like your idea of paralleling your inverter on/off switch. I have to use that great idea. If you use a solar panel you can get the extra voltage from the panel without having to use the DC-to-DC charger.

Drop an orange floating plastic bead in the clear water level pipe. You can get them from fishing tackle shops, just make sure it's a floating bead...

Is that a ctek d250 DC charger? If so you can run another cable from the unit to monitor your starter battery, once your leisure battery is fully charged the ctek will trickle charge you starter battery

Hi Karl. Absolutely love this series of videos, I particularly like the way you're solving bits along the way. They're pretty funny too. Top man. Quick question, a lot of the electrics will be hidden behind furniture. Will you be creating access holes in the backs of the furniture (or no backs?). Ta (caveat, I haven't finished the videos yet)

Make sure the view pipe is high enough or when you fill the tank from a strong tap supply it will force water out of the top, I have had this and the person filling the tank did not know ???? Good luck and Very Happy Christmas.

What stops the pump sucking the water out of the plastic tube and then air, especially when the tank is low? Or will the gravity of the water weight always be strong enough to prevent that?

I noticed no one ever replied to your question. Nowadays you can get 6-7 stage chargers. I would get one of these. I'm assuming you have non-lithium batteries. ie. AGM's and the like. The chargers are cheap and available everywhere. A good multi-stage charger will look after your battery(s) for a long time. Normally your charger can do both. ie act as a power supply and a charger. But check it's not a constant current charger. You'd be unlucky if did have one.

I am following your project from Canada! It is the first time I see a shaped water tank following the curve of the wheel arch: can you provide info about that tank?

Hello Canada. The tank is from a company called tanks direct, they do a 24 litre and a 57 litre

Couple of questions, Karl. What are you doing about grey water? Would it be possible to have two over the wheel arch for grey and fresh? (I don't mean for your build per se, more is it physically possible to fit two in line?) I've not permanently fitted my tanks yet (under the bed held with bungy cords because I want decent sized tanks) but using the space at the bottom of the furniture at the back where it's pretty much useless for anything else seems genius to me. The only issue I see is how would you empty the grey tank easily if it's all hidden..... I guess another pump to pump it all out could be a solution ? Sorry, that turned into more than a couple of questions :-)

dude you should not have punctured the water tank enough water weight and pumps later the holes will open and it will leak.
