Hi Stuart. Great vid. Have you made any vids on the health and safety of leadworking? A fb vid was suggested to me by the algorithym and the leadworker was getting an annual lead test? Just thought. Thanks 😊

Another great video stu ,can I ask what the building paper is for please regards Jeff
@slbleadworks2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeff. The building paper is used to protect the underside of the lead from alkalis in the stone.

Hi Stuart I just brought a victorian property a which has a bay it has a gully/ flat roof with stone copping and draining off to one side. Could you lead the whole thing or would you use another material for the gully flat then cap the copping?? Hope I explained it right cheers Justin
@slbleadworks2 жыл бұрын
Hi Justin. It sounds like the whole thing could be done in lead. But I would have to see a picture to know for sure. Your could send one to my Instagram account.

Can you put a few welding videos on when you get time please?

Yes I’m thinking about making another vid solely on welding. All the different cuts etc. I think it’s my welding vid that’s the most popular so far.

hi stu i have been looking at model o castolin portable welding kit its on ebay do you think it would be ok to learn with or oxy turbo 200 would appreciate your advice thanks paul
@slbleadworks2 жыл бұрын
I would say out of the two that the model o Castolin would be easier. The oxy turbo 200 gun is quite difficult to use as it heats up a large area. But ideally I wouldn’t get either one. You can get the little kits like this with a genuine model o torch. That’s the one to go for.

Hi Stuart how’s you back going ? Are you back at work? Ian.
@slbleadworks Жыл бұрын
Hi Ian I’m currently on holiday. My back has a few better days occasionally. But still along way to go. When I do try going back to work I’m going to have to be really sensible moving the rolls of lead. I’ll try and cut everything into smaller sizes first. I’ll try and make everything as light as possible.
@ianstevens9655 Жыл бұрын
@@slbleadworks hi Stuart. Hope your taking it easy on holiday and your back is feeling better..I go for the smaller rolls. 390 and above 3 m. So easy to move about no stress. Code 5 and above cut on the ground. A little bit of leg work and very little back work. Your skill is working with lead. 6m 450. That’s a lot on the back. 3m 450 not so bad. It works for me. Do let me no how your getting on. Ian
@slbleadworks Жыл бұрын
@@ianstevens9655 Hi Ian yes I’ve been taking it easy. I fly home tomorrow. My back is probably pretty similar to be honest. Maybe slightly better. I think when I get home I’m going to try and do a few days with my mate. It will be Slightly easier as he will probably help with all the lifting. And a good test for me to try and ease back into things.
