Darn John what an adventure. Keep alives can be bears. You just never know just what size you'll get. Nice work so far. Koodooz for doing the maintenance that needed doing.

Some serious kitbashing going on there John! But the main thing is that it all fitted in and once that shell goes back on; nobody can see! So all good. Cheers, Jim

I have a proto 2000 SAL RSC2, so this video is very helpful. Great video!

Glad it helped, Nissy! I hope the frame leaves more room in that one! I have a Kato RSC-2 that required NO frame removal, and all the same stuff fit just fine.

Great job on the install and good video about it. Very informative. Those two jeeps will look good running together and even better is one with the ACLO RS unit.

Glad you made this video, as I have several HO scale Life-Like Proto 2000 locomotives with cracked gears, and now that I know I can replace the gears with Athearn parts, I'd like to install decoders as well. Question: Will that set of Athearn SD40-2 gears fit in all the Proto 2000 locos? And if you'll enable the KZbin "Thanks" button, I'd like to buy you a coffee for making this video.
@johnarthur63025 ай бұрын
I appreciate that - no tips needed, though I appreciate the sentiment. So far, those Athearn replacement gears have fit in all the proto GP7 and GP9 locos I have converted. Think they are generally suitable for any Proto diesel.

agreed - if it will fit in the model, it makes it feel much more interactive.

Just wire both sides of the trucks .Keep the weight and eliminate the keep alive ,Waste of money on any proto becauase of their weight ,cutting out weight is not smart when you do not have to.
