This device has 2 operation modes. The mode selection is based on the jumper placement. Jumper pin 1 & pin 2 -> programming mode. As you well described. Jumper pin 2 & pin 3 -> serial TTL mode. We can directly connect pin TXD, RXD, and pin GND (3 wires) to a serial port of another device.

1. Position of the Tab: It is written on the circuit board. 1-2 for programming and 2-3 for TTL. Unfortunately written in Chinese 2. The Up or Down connection: It is also shown in the circuit board. Top is for 25 and down is for 24. For most bios, it is 25 chip and one must select 25 SPI Flash in the software.

Thanks for the video. I don't have this programmer (yet). Nor have I downloaded the software yet. But there is one thing that seems obvious to me, just from watching your video... Problem #2, Wrong Chip Placement in Socket Depicted in the First Version of the Software (that you used)... @ 10:46 - The type (in the first software) is set to "24 EEPROM". @ 14:00 - The bottom of the programmer shows the upper bank = "BIOS 25 SPI", and the lower bank = "EEPROM 24 I2C". @ 16:32 - The type (in the second software) is set to "25 SPI FLASH". I would bet you 25 cents that both software versions will properly show (in the lower-left graphic) the correct orientation and placement of the chip, if the correct chip type is chosen. I could be wrong about that, but I doubt it. Once I get the device, I'll test that. I plan to use this device on HT24LC32 chips (which can also be written to by the end device). It's obvious to me that 24 series EEPROMS would use that lower bank, that was incorrect for your 25 series BIOS chip. Still, a very helpful video, after I jumped to about the ten minute mark. Pins 1 & 2 was it? LOL (Sorry, I couldn't help myself)
@dalemarkwell11716 жыл бұрын
I now have the device and have tested my "pre-ownership" theory... mostly. The video never really tells exactly what the first software was, you know, the one that you abandoned. However, I did download and test the version of the software that you provided the link to (thank you for that). My original theory was proven correct in the second software version (the one that you ended up using). When the type is toggled between "24 EEPROM" and "25 SPI FLASH", the graphical representation in the lower-left does indeed show the correct orientation and placement of the chip for each type. It's hard to believe how little $$$ you can get these devices for. Mine was around 6 bucks. And your links to the files made it easy. I just used the file that pre-installs the driver, the file that installs the main software... and it just all worked. I installed on a Win XP 32 bit laptop. Works like a charm. Thank you for putting it all together and providing the links.

In arriving package position, jumper position is on TTL. This meaning from USB you need connected wires from USB to by description on the bottom programmer PINS. If you can seen 1-2 meaning (USB Normal) 2-3 TTL then come TX0, RX0, GND and 5V. From other side come output pins (5V, 3.3V, GND, MIOS, MOSI, CS and CLK). With this pins you can connect FLASH or EEPROM with wires to ic pins without de-soldering. More information about TTL Cable: www.kiwi-electronics.nl/usb-to-ttl-serial-kabel?lang=en

Flashed Asus N73sv laptop with latest bios and bricked it (thanks Asus) I learned that with this tool you need to first erase the chip or you get read errors. extra info on Asus N73SV is to NOT use their bios but search for the N73SM Only that version worked! even older versions of the original N73SV did not work. Happy with this cheap tool. It does read all *.* files btw.

Update... this SM version made the laptop boot and was working but the videocard did nothing. found the komplete 4mb SV bios elsewhere and flashed this true N73SV and now everything works again. Another tip is to perhaps buy a better clamp since its not perfect and you have to re-place it a couple times to have a good connection. cost me like 6 euro + some extra chips to experiment on for 1 or 2 euro :)

On the opposite side of chip locking lever there is a drawing on PCB how the memory chip should be installed :) . If you'd rotate the socket by 180deg so the locking lever would be pointing at usb connector then the image in first software would be right too. Thanks for info about the jumper 👍 This is just my guessing: The software was designed probably for hardware that have the socket rotated (maybe predecessor of EZ2019 (ezp?) or 2010), but when "cloners" show up and copied the hardware they rotated the socket how it's now (because it's more user friendly, and they can't copy 1=1 board layout either because: maybe of legal implications or the board was just too big and cost too much ;) ) but they still used the original software ...
