I'm getting older and there aren't a lot of channels out there anymore I look forward to seeing new uploads. You've scratched that niche interest for me and kept me entertained for years. Hearing you talk about what you're going through in the same casual tone as all your other videos broke my heart a little. I also recognize that you're processing this in the best way for you, while trying to keep your community informed and entertained. I respect that a lot. Again, thank you.

My sister battled breast cancer years ago, and one useful comfort tip I can offer: once you do lose your hair, be mindful of the direction you scrub in when you wash your scalp. Be sure to scrub in the direction the follicles naturally grow in. It doesn't sound like it would matter that much, but "going against the grain" like that can actually make your scalp really tender! You'll be going through enough discomfort with the chemo without having something like that added into the mix. All the positive energy in the world to you in the coming months, man. You can do this.

Hi Steve, I work at Batteries Plus. I've done a lot of repairs on drill batteries and rebuilt them as well. For your DeWalt battery, the minimum voltage for the charger to recognize it needs to be charged would be 16 volts to about 15.5. This is because it has multiple different batteries in it and those batteries are 18650s. Each one of those batteries have a 3.7 volt charge. 18650s minimum voltage required to charge would be around 2.5 volts. Multiplying that by how many batteries it has gives you the minimum requirement for the charger to recognize it needs to be charged
@UpintheAir139510 ай бұрын
Do you guys repair Packs with 18650's or larger lithium cells at your batteries plus? Cuz all we used to do at the one I worked at were the Ni-CD and Ni-MH ones.
@jessebarnhill388310 ай бұрын
@@UpintheAir1395 Hey man! My store doesn't work on the lithium packs due to the possibility of there being damaged lithium and shorting out the electronic causing the batteries to overload. I am just familiar with the packs because I use 18650s for other purposes.
@MattsAwesomeStuff10 ай бұрын
I'm shocked that an electronics guy gave up on fixing a battery, or heck, even put it back on the charger, without checking the voltages of the individual cells. Milwaukee in particular might just flip a switch in software and say "never try to charge this again" after a couple failures. 14.5V means nothing if that's 3.6v per cells on 4 cells, and one cell at zero. Or... just try to charge up the weak cells manually and see if they take some energy. It's so simple and he didn't even check!
@MrN800710 ай бұрын
I have fixed over a dozen old batteries some with water damage etc. only see one bad board surprisingly. Red green one was definitely like Jesse said low voltage. I usually balance charge the cells first to at least 3.5 volts so they all match. If one cell is very weak I usually replace it which is a pain. That spot welder you have doesn’t seem very strong. Mine was cheap under $40 and will melt those nickel strips like butter if I don’t watch the level. I usually test before use so I don’t melt something I need lol.

I’m a huge fan of the channel. I am making this comment as I watch so I’m not sure if you’ll figure this out this video. The cells should each be about 3-3.9 volts. Typically if a cell goes bad the battery won’t charge anymore. The individual cell can be replaced but they usually need to be balanced with each cell as close to the same voltage as possible. That circuit board has a battery management system (BMS) that balances each cell during charging. So if a cell is bad (low voltage) the charger will not charge it and they usually recommend taking it somewhere to be recycled.

The past year or so I have watched you in awe and wanted to try and be like you with the electronics repairs. 💐💐 Last week I bought the following: solder station, digital microscope, bench power supply and a load of components. I also bought 2 YlOD Ps3s, a bundle (ps1, ps2 xbox one and 360) off ebay for £60 and a ps2 for £10. Thanks to you inspiring me, I have now repaired: the xbox one, one of the ps2's (the other became a doner) The PS1 (just waiting on a lazer now-freezes). 1 PS3 had been re flowed and works. The other I ran out of thermal paste, once I get more I will de cap , re flow and rebuild with the perfect amount 👌🏽 😎 Youre an inspiration and a great help, love and thoughts from the UK. Keep up the good fight brother ❤🫡
