Hi 602manuel, Well, as stated on the video, this kit is not to be used on vehicles with catalytic converters. The raw fuel will result in a clogged converter. Also, because the power to the ignition coil is interrupted; misfire trouble codes will be set in the vehicles on board computer.

i have heard the lsx crate motor is good for 2200 hp on stock internals, and the ls1 is good for 1100 hp on stock stuff. diesels like the cummins push 800 hp and 50+psi on stock internals. any american v8 or diesel can be woken up with some very minor mods and push 500hp very cheaply

@forwardspace9145 just the cats....the purpose of them is to burn left over fuel from the combustion cycle. Mufflers are fine.

He could do propane injection after the cat and post cat O2 sensor so as to not throw off the sensor readings. Use a solenoid valve to turn on the "regulated" propane flow into the exhaust and a spark plug near the end of the pipe. He may need to fab up an exhaust tip that'll allow air to be mixed in and efficiently ignite the propane in the exhaust as it exits the tail pipe. Also he needs to consider careful placement of the pipes direction so he does not cause a fire.

Trouble with doing it on a 09 GMC sierra is that the whole ignition and fuel system is computer controlled. So running a straight pipe system in itself will trigger a MIL (Malfunction indicator light) due to the catalytic converter missing. Also overridding the coil packs to shut off will also trigger a MIL, the raw fuel mixture going down the exhaust will also trigger a MIL, In effect when the MIL goes on, the system may go into a limp mode and cause the vehicles performance to act poorly.

summit racing. instead of a push button, why not hard wire it into a clutch sensor?? have an on/off toggle switch, and then you could have the clutch in at a stop, rev it and throw flames. then flames for each shift while rpms drop. then its more of a natural look, not just a ricer look :) keep in touch! let me know your thoughts on this. also, i have a 06 subaru sti with an aftermarket 20g turbo. full 3" catless exhaust. i ran all my wires and instead of going through the ingnition, i went from the battery with a toggle switch on the dash. i put an extra coil in the trunk to run the spark plug wire down to the exhaust. my coil is gettting heated to much to touch. and no spark from the plug. any suggestions?

Hi Roy OBrien, It sounds like you may have a faulty switch or a bare wire grounding the negative side of the coil. This would cause a continuous current flow through the coil and overheating!

he forgot to mention that you have to have the exhaust HOT! If you just start it up and try it, things can go wrong! mine wouldnt fire the first time, second time... (the first time i tried it cold) and then the THIRD time I tried it... BOOOM and the flame went UP the pipe not back! blew both my stamped turbo mufflers out and fucked the whole exhaust system. Better hope your exhaust is fully welded, including the mufflers!

Bro I know this is old but on a camaro v8 f body you can just unbolt the cats and buy a straight mid pipe but you’ll get a check engine light because of the o2 sensors unless you get the o2 sensor cheaters/restricters

Sorry about that rude reply. Now to answer your question the right way. With a stock exhaust? No it will not. You have cats. But if you remove them and run a straight pipe from the headers back it will work. But you will most likely be illegal in doing so where you live. Especially if you have to get emissions testing. I have very limited knowledge about flame throwers, so my question is, How do you get from like the jet engine look flame to, how do I put this, like the other types of flames? Also how can person install this to get a shorter flame or a longer flame?

I'm three years late, but if you still care: the flame size is determined by your air/fuel ratio, so a turbocharged car pushing more fuel into the cylinders will make a larger flame, while a n/a car will make a smaller flame. The only option is to tune it to change the size. As for not looking like a jet engine: bigger pipes and less restrictive air flow. It just depends on the pressure at which the flame is being shot out.

Funnily enough, on some 4 strokes, you can shoot flames without any mods. Just rev a few seconds, hit the kill switch, throttle again, flip switch off... flame on!
