The caliper is supposed to free slide on the bracket.

the free slide is inportant one pad moves to the rotor then pulls the whole caliper over so the other pad can make contact the guys doing the work on my project ran into that problem last night only getting the frictional braking from one pad theres no squeeze on the disk for this kit all you need to do is mount the bracket with the bolt holes to the frame slide the caliper and disk on together everyone over thinks these and solid mount them and complain they suck

I'm using the same brake setup and can't get our two seater Yerf Dog to stop quickly...is it not enough of a brake for such a big kart? Feeling I might need to move to hydraulic.

Yerf dogs are quite a large go kart. The two things I would suggest is maybe if you haven’t already try tightening the brakes. And if that doesn’t work then your best bet is that get hydraulic brakes.

@GoKarts OverHere, thanks for the quick reply! I've tightened and adjusted them so many different times over the course of a week. It just isn't the right brake for this weight. I'll keep the caliper as a backup for other projects. Calling go-power today to get the right hydraulic to use with the 8" rotor I've already got installed.
