I wish all tutorials were made as professionaly as this one is. Smooth ambient music, nice lightning and camera, everything shown (as opposed to just mentioned in voice) and no parts worth fast-forwarding over.

Random question after gyprocking my bathrooms ready for tiling do i need to have the walls plastered first or is this not neccesery
@GenoLoma14 күн бұрын
don't use plaster on the walls of wet areas, instead, use 6mm fibre cement sheet, commonly called "villaboard".. your tiler will know.

Why are the wall boards installed horizontally, and not vertically?
@stevepark38652 жыл бұрын
The sheets are installed according to the direction of the timber framework

Why can’t you screw through the adhesive?

Adhesive shrinks as it dries leaving the screw sticking out

The panel lifter is an absolute MUST for ceilings.. Especially if you're a one-man-show, but even if you have an off-sider or 2, no-one wants to try to hold up a big sheet of plaster in place, on its flat, up a ladder, while someone else tries to screw the bastard in.. I'll be doing a little bathroom in a few weeks which is 3.8mt long, and I'll be using a single sheet (cut down from 4.8) to cover it. Panel lifter and a step ladder and I'll get it done in 20 minutes by myself.

@@GenoLomahow did your bathroom renovation go?
@GenoLoma14 күн бұрын
@@OilBaron100 nailed it.. ;) I've done a few more since, and recently, taken on house reno's too - lots of re-sheeting of walls and ceilings - so I invested in my own panel lifter.. 40 bucks a day to hire one, but only 250 (delivered!) to buy.. should have done it years ago.. I got one in blue too.. which matches with my business colour scheme.. :)

@@GenoLoma glad to read that you've had success on some drywall jobs!
@GenoLoma14 күн бұрын
Having just come back her to reply to a comment, I've just noticed that these "professional" installers are using individual screws, instead of a far superior and more convenient collated screw gun.. If you plan on doing more than a single house, invest the 350 bucks in one, (something like the Makita DFR450ZX), it''ll pay itself back in time saved within the first week..

Better read manufacturer installation guide before making video. On ceiling those timbers should be 16" or 400 mm center to center and clearly your studs are 24" 600 mm.
@Truevisionsolutions6 жыл бұрын
Mr. Wizeguy you can use 600mm centres

Lol you have no idea what you're talking about
@mr.wizeguy89954 жыл бұрын
@@Truevisionsolutions Yes you can and that's why KZbin is full of "how to patch broken ceiling joint" videos because 24" 600mm spacing allows too much movement and some of joints for sure crack it even sags from own weight too much but clearly you know better than MANUFACTURER guide.

Mr. Wizeguy iv never had an issue either back blocking or put noggings in between the joist no sag!
