Not many people eat bear here (SE Alaska). This is salmon country and the bears are infested with worms from the spawned salmon. They are also off putting to many because when the hide is removed the carcass looks very much like a human. Up north they used to be used to feed the sled dogs (seems most everything served that purpose in the past century) but snowmobiles don't seem to run as well on bear!! Plenty of both Brown and Black available. Mostly trophy hunters from down below in the lower forty eight go after them. I have a few on my city lot and up on my deck that anyone is welcome to.
@LifeontheMoose6 ай бұрын
I can see that! I’ve only hunted and eaten mountain bears…mostly on a diet of greens and berries. They really are delicious. I have heard that about coastal bears…wormy and often foul-tasting. Thank you for the comment!

You could take a few old 1x6s and cover up those strong ties so you can't see them. Nice look though Had the same issue getting pieces lifted that high. I took my forks and put them 4 inches apart. Then put an 8ft log on them and ratched it to the forks. Gave me an 8 ish foot long crane. Add a hook and you can really reach out

By the way, I have done a few beams like those by myself. I used a 2 x 4 screwed to the side of the post with a choker at the top to provide a purchase for a chain fall. I usually did one at each end for an even lift but you can do one end at a time in stages and temporarily block it as you are going up to switch ends.
@LifeontheMoose6 ай бұрын
I like the idea! If lifting didn’t go well, the next plan was getting a rope in those nearby trees.

Make more sense to me to build a kitchen indoors. If you want to cook outdoors well there is an easy way to do that without building a kitchen, and I guess, for certain folks they would believe there is more than 1 way. If you have food you want to cook outdoors then all you would have to do is to prepare to make a fire outdoors, but if you never learned how to start a fire outdoors to cook your meals then I do not suggest, or recommend, for you to try it.
@LifeontheMoose6 ай бұрын
It will have multi-uses, other than making fires. Shade, weather protection, cabana, seating area, etc. Thanks for watching!

He said the pyramid would have been easy to build He was a big believer in tripods. Lift the weight and move the legs around I built my wood shed with large logs and raised them with the tripod and of course block and tackle. Worked like a charm And I see from one angle there is some perfect pecker poles in the distance. Save your back build a tripod for this kinda shit

@@LifeontheMoose I was just busting your chops. Didn't think you'd actually read it. Different cultures eat different things. Many Hindu don't eat beef, many Muslim or Jews don't eat pork but many in Asia eat dogs. I've known folks that grew up in upstate New York, and New England in the 50s and 60s that had to live off the land and hunt for game, but I'm still curious why if the meat is comparable, it isn't on a grocery shelf or drive through menu. In the US if there's a demand for a product, there's a line of folks selling it.
