Yes it will work from anywhere. It depends which switch you want to use. For ZooZ there’s many switches which don’t require any mods. The double switch I use requires 14-3 wire meaning two hot wires going to the ceiling. However this method can be used for many electronics not just zooz products. As you probably saw even my flume water detector was recognized.

Hi, this is completely unrelated to the video above, but I have seen your content about MXM laptops and I have an inquiry: I have an Alienware M17x R3 with an Intel i7 2860QM with a GTX 580M graphics card and it runs windows 11 well. The laptops runs well, but I really want to change the graphics card to maybe a GTX 1060M or a 970M…. I tried putting in the 1060, but the laptop didn’t boot at all so I think it just doesn’t work. I then put the 970 in. The laptop booted, but then displayed 8 beeps… I have seen online in forums that the GTX 9XX cards onto support UEFI and my laptop only supports legacy bios. Do you know a work around to this problem and is there a solution? Thank you.

I got RTX 3000 and RTX 5000 working in M18xR1 which is same gen as M17xR3. It’s in SG mode as well. Only issue is you are limited to DX11 and the 419.67 or older drivers. In M18xR1 we have dual MXM slots so I got around this by putting M2000M in primary slot and RTX 5000 in secondary slot. www.3dmark.com/fs/32094568

@@cs.studios Thank you for the reply, i greatly appreciate it. So since the M17x R3 doesn't support UEFl, what would happen if I put the M17x R4 bios onto the R3? Would UEFI be able to work or would it just brick the laptop? • Another question I would like to ask is if there is a more powerful GPU than an 880M that supports legacy bios.
