I agree with Shyam Vasudev's comment, but I would recommend turning the locking pins on the RM1 cooler a few times beforehand and then making certain they are unlocked and firmly turned clockwise before even setting the RM1 cooler in place. I initially could not latch the RM1 cooler in place on my ASRock Z690 Extreme (Wifi 6E) motherboard until I did both (and reseated the CPU for good measure, but it seemed to have been installed properly the first time). Fiddling with the pins and their locks seems to have made them operate more easily. Alternatively to David Noble's experienced handling of the lightweight motherboard in this hands while latching the cooler in place, a safer method for everyone and almost a necessity for heavier motherboards is to place them on a flat surface that has some cushion to it. Using the bottom of the motherboard's shipping box is a reasonable choice. My motherboard had a collar and partial base of antistatic foam in the box; I used the foam base as support and cushion when I was wrestling the RM1 cooler in place.

Hey man I have a problem it would be a great help if you can guide me through it.I actually bought a PC I got someone to build it so it has i5 12400f and GTX 1660 SUPER , 16Gigs of Lexar Ram ( Doesn't have any heatsink I guess) 256 GB of ssd not an nvme and a 2 Tb of Harddrive. So the problem is my PC is kinda choppy sometimes When its booted up Its extremely slow even though its not irresponsive but its slow and the game I play is Valorant so whenever I'm opening that particular game the pc makes like noise I think its power supply ( its a red dragon 600 watt psu).But when the game loads it doesn't make the noise. It could be harddrive that makes the noise but It just seems like its coming from psu and yes when I turn on the pc it does make the noise but when its booted up the noise just disappears.I've done alot of research regarding the slowness issued so the pc has no virus that's for sure.It has to related to Hardware.The thing is I don't wanna reinstall windows for now I want to do every possible thing to get it right. I got a short recommended to me it was related to the same issue that i was having to them it was a RAM issue they told a command to run so check RAM health or so but i haven't done it rn Also for some reason my performance is not upto the mark like my specifications are able to get70-150 fps on gta v on ultra settings but I'm stuck with 50 fps like its happening in many games in valo i should have 400 fps buts its around 200 or so

which one is the gen 3 slot, what happens when if I install gen 3 SSD in the gen 4 slot
@PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_12 жыл бұрын
Hello, as far as I can tell from the literature with this motherboard...the two M.2 slots are both Gen 3. Now, on most B660, H670 and Z690...they will have both Gen 3 and Gen 4. If you put a Gen 3 M.2 SSD into Gen 4 slot, you get the same performance as in a Gen 3 slot typically if you are comparing the same mfg. If you put a Gen 4 M.2 SSD into a Gen 3 M.2 slot...it will restrict its speed...could be significant if it is one of the really fast Gen 4 ones... Budget is all relative these days as these motherboards are 20-40% higher than previous generations. So budget for this discussion is less than $180. Can you buy from Newegg.com? This is my favorite ASUS PRIME B660M-A AC D4 LGA 1700 is $149.99. If you want something that will handle an I7 or I9 better, Asus Tuf Gaming B660m wifi D4 is $179.99. Great features as well and it looks sharp. However, almost at the point you could find a Z690 and put a wifi card in it. Cheapest was GIGABYTE B660M DS3H AX DDR4 B660 at $139.99. The last one, I have had the last 4 generations of them...solid...but probably not great if you want 13th gen I7 or I9. Not much else out there.

Is there any performance only differences between h610 and b660 when using i5 12400f ?
@PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_12 жыл бұрын
It depends on the quality of the B660 motherboard. On the low end, I have the Asus H610m and Asrock B660m....really the only thing would be that you could put better RAM in the B660/B660m and faster Gen4 M.2 in B660m. On the high end of B660, there can be significant differences to include VRM, DDR5 becomes an option, RAM speed, RAM quantity and if you find the right motherboard...Base Clock Frequency adjustment. Higher end B660's also have PCIE 5.0 future capability. At this level, you might see slight increases in benchmarks to include Cinebench R23 multicore due to Power Limits and the extra 1x4 cpu power connector. This difference matters more when you go to I7 and I9.

If I pair i5 12600k with h61m-e what will be the gaming performance? I am not planning to overclock cpu
@PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_12 жыл бұрын
Sadly, when I paired these two together on this channel...I only made two videos one was a benchmark video and one gaming video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5W6eH9ud86VaKs Where you might lose performance and this would definitely affect running benchmarks like Cinebench: no ability to core overclock, power limit throttling, not much adjustment to be made with power limits, only 1x8 cpu power connector, weak VRM. Most of the time, limited to 3200Mhz RAM.... I'd say this combo still games pretty good though a game that relies more on multi-core might suffer quite a bit more in comparison to running on Z690 or a higher end B660 or H670.

I find the H610m severely limited in features. It will defnitely reduce the performance of certain CPU's. It provides less future upgradability than a B660 or B660m. I would say it is worth spending around $140 on a B660 than it is $100 on the cheapest H610m. There is a cheap AsRock B660m HDV out there around $100...but it is as limited as the H610m. Yes, the 12400f has higher performance, but to use this cpu, i think b660 with vrm heatsinks is more optimal ( as in my region any 610 with heatsinks are not available), moreover, i would need better cooling solution. @@LumosTechFa I ended up putting this in a better motherboard, Asus Tuf B660m Wifi D4...bit better performance on benchmarks, but about the cost of a Z690...so not really worth spending more on it.

@@LumosTechFa Awesome...hope you are happy with it. I have since put the I5-12600k into and Asus Tuf B660m...slightly better performance but not enough to justify $80 price difference.
