Installing IE Mk7 GTI Rear Sway Bar! (Better Than Anticipated!)

Today we installed Integrated Engineering Roll bar to eliminate the terrible body roll that the Mk7 GTI has. This makes the GTI handle better in the Canyons and on Track! Such a good mod in my opinion!

I’ve got 034 front and rear sways with rigid collar subframe kits front and rear waiting to go on. So excited. Just did EQT stage 1 and DSG tune yesterday. Huge improvement

We lost a wheel on the track so we had to get it repaired and decided to leave the caps off! Love IE too we have all their stuff and it’s great! They never shout me out bahah

a little clarification….what a bigger bar in the rear will do is dial out some of the under steer from factory. in general …..soften the bar to produce more grip, stiffen the bar will do the opposite…..So know the cars handling on track then address it accordingly

No a bigger bar stiffens up the rear end reducing body roll…. To much body roll causes a loss of grip as we experience at the track accordingly…. We wouldn’t have done this mod for no reason. Suspension and tires is where most of you handling comes from. Swag bars to have a part but I don’t agree with you statement

From the factory the gti is unpredictable because of how much sway it has so making it stiffer gives it more grip because how soft it is from factory

@@jacobMMotorsport suspension is complicated and it gets into scrub radius and on and on. put simply, at the racetrack, when we want the back of the car to step out more (oversteeer) we stiffen the rear bar. in the wet we may even disconnect it. my civic had an enormous bar, stiffened subframe bracing and 950lbs spring, all so it would easily rotate. you throw those cars into a corner and on turn in it steps out, you catch it with throttle to pull it out of oversteering. i am putting a bigger bar in the rear on the golf R i bought , knowing from youtube/social media, it understeers and i want it more neutral. a car needs to be loose to be fast on the track. PLANTED tends to mean your not driving fast enough. Spec Miata’s are a 4 wheel drift in a 90mph corner.

@@jacobMMotorsport body roll often creates more grip, it’s why we disconnect a sway bar at times, to increase grip. of course too much does the opposite but now your getting into pyrometers and stuff.
