Having trouble with the back seat removal. I have limited with leather. Not sure if it’s different for me?

It’s the same removal. Little pull tabs under the. Passanger and driver side.

How much did you buy? I got figured i might do the trunk to help the bass a little better and than at least the front amd rear doors when i install the speakers. Wondering how much you bought .

Just the 1 box. 36sqft which is plenty to do pretty much the whole car.

Hey bud do you think i should try sound deadening before i upgrading the door speakers? Right now i have oem head unit upgraded tweeters and speaker amp and a lil 8in sub (all from oem audio +) their speakers would run me like $399 i think or something so just curious i know you said the sound deadening helped alot.

Most likely you’ll end up doing the speakers, am I right? I would just do it all at once so you don’t have to do the work twice.

I guess this company is stopping their reference series speakers except for existing customers (supply amd demand) so i wanted to order them sooner than later bc their amp is a dsp so they tune specifically for them) i could always have the amp sent back out but thats no fun lol) thanks for the quick reply lol

Helps to use a heat gun, it conforms better into all the spots. It softens up, more plyable, sticks better

I almost returned my STI after realizing how loud the cabin noise is, lol now I have killmat and soundskin sound deadening on my trunk back seat and 4 doors. I’m planning to add mass loaded vinyl just on the trunk.. lol I daily my car and sometimes you just wanna cruise and relax..haha I just want my STI loud when I see some muscle cars lol

Yeah, I'm running Nameless midpipe with Delta Motorworks muffler delete and downpipe. It's loud! I did full trunk, doors and roof with Dynamat and recently added 1.5lbs MLV on the full trunk floor and also hung behind the rear seats. It made a little difference, but I was hoping for a little more. In the spring I might MLV the rear tray and Dynamat/MLV some of the floor.

@@jaypao8276 It helped a little. Noticable, but the car isn't quiet by any means. Huge difference when the back seats are up vs down. I have a 2015 STi, I think 17 or 18 they tried for quieter, but once you go with an after market exhaust, you are going to hear it inside or out. You can hear the noise is coming from the back of the car, not the transmission tunnel etc. I think if I want quieter, I'd need to swap out the axel back for one with some mufflers, but I like it the way it is.

I cannot resist. Is sound 🎶 dending lighter in weight than sound 🎶 deadening. 🤣🤣 I am guessing subtitle spell check was at work I suspect 🤔! Regardless of its weight though it’s not my thing. As you said the WRX or STI is supposed to be raw the opposite of what you get with installing sound deadening. Decibel wise to me, dB (Kilmat+Tomei)🎶 will equal dB Cobb Titanium 🎶, to get “a gentleman’s exhaust” level for the cabin of your Subie. 🤣🤣 Back to where it started not a surprise but a compromise. Loud and raucous 🎶 on the outside but mellow on the inside🎶.

The amount I use does not cut down on the overall exhaust resonance or volume. It just quiets down the road noise overall. I confirmed this after I did the trunk.

Put sound deadening on the doors so that way it makes it feel like a luxury car and the thud is much sexier. I did my car doors. Plus it helps because the speakers are there.

@@Autofreakgarage soundskins has a precut for wrx that adds even better sound deadening. put it on my wrx and the doors feel much heavier. also makes more of a difference with sound and rattles
