I installed the same ones a year ago but i opened my headlights and installed them that way. I also connected the yellow wire to the turn signal bulb, and have them tapped to a switched fuse so that they turn on/off with the key. I noticed a few months after I installed them that they will change to one of the animated sequences, seemingly by themselves, or by no known reason to me, which I dont like because Im not trying to get pulled over for them. So ive been trying to figure out what's causing it, but other than that they have worked great and still work a year later.

I had something like that happen to me with them one time. One of the caps on the end that was making it a water tight seal came loose and was letting moisture into the strip. I glued it back shut and it seemed to be fine after that. Might be a similar issue to what you are experiencing.

Yes, you can put them inside, on-top or underneath. To put them inside you’d need to separate the light housing which can be tricky. A lot of people put the whole thing in the oven to heat up the sealant and then open it up and add whatever they want and glue it back together. Look up headlight baking on here and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

I believe what you would need to do for that is run the power wire to the fuse in the fuse box that powers your running lights. Then you would also need to leave that switch activated in the car (for me it’s on my blinker) so that when you hit the unlock it powers them on. I could be totally wrong though I’ve never tried that type of setup myself though. Might want to also check Google and some other KZbin vids.

You can usually find those at any auto parts store or even Walmart/Target in the automotive section.

You just want to make sure the metal from the connector is touching the metal from the terminal. There’s a bolt that holds a clamp around mine so I loosened the bolt, slid the connector in between and tightened the bolt back to hold it all in place. If you check out my underglow video or my Zevo LED headlight video you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Yes a fuse tap is the better option here. I didn’t have any issues with just turning them off after I used them but for convenience sake a fuse tap is better.

I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think that is the same as just regular positive on a battery. Doing some googling it seems like that is for when the key is in the ignition and turned but not all the way to start the cars engine. This would turn on power to things like the lights and radio but the engine would not start yet.

No, these will not void any warranties. Just make sure you install them correctly so no damage is done to the battery (short circuit).

Mine got some water in them too and made some of the LEDs act a little funny. I think you have to superglue those caps on if you cut the strips and expose the inside.

Yes I connected straight to my battery but you can connect to your fuse box if you want. For the turn signals to work you would need to connect the yellow wire to the fuse that controls your turn signals or directly to the power of each turn signal bulb which I believe is what they show in the instructions for these but it may be a little different now.

One option I’ve seen people do in that case is put them below the headlights. You would either need to take the headlights out or maybe the bumper off depending on how it is on that car and then put the strips on and replace the bumper/headlights.

If you have a fuse box under your hood you can use a wire tap connector to plug the lights into the box. Or if it’s got a positive terminal on it somewhere like my new car you can wire the positive to the power cable and negative to anywhere you can attach a ground wire to.

So far they are still doing good. Unfortunately the only way I have found to turn them on is the remote but I have found out that other remotes will work. I have a 2nd remote for my interior LED strips and that remote works with the exterior light strips so if I lose it or it stops working I can just use the other one.

You’re going to loosen the nut that is holding the clamps onto the battery terminals enough to slip the connector in between and then tighten the nut back so it holds it in there. You just basically want to make sure that your negative (black) cable is touching something grounded or the negative battery post and the red cable will be touching the positive post. Hope this helps, I think I have a clip in one of my other videos of me showing how to do it check my underglow video or my ZEVO LED headlight video.

Unfortunately I’m not totally sure, I just picked one out of that little box I showed that was big enough to fit around the bolt holding the clamp to the terminal. You may want to do what I did and get a variety pack with all different kinds, they are cheap and give you plenty of options.

Your battery will be fine, these use basically no power when they are off. I have even accidentally left them on all night and still started the car in the morning. LEDs don’t need much power at all.

Yes it’s safe, you just have to make sure you have the remote with you so you can turn the lights off after using them otherwise they stay on. But the good thing is since they are LED’s they barely use any power so if you accidentally leave them on for a bit it won’t immediately drain your battery.

URGENT: Hey man! I really appreciate the video. I just bought these, but I can’t figure out how to connect them to my car. The instructions say to connect them to the ACC+ or H+, but neither of those are present in my fuse box. When searching online, I have seen people suggest to use an empty ACC port such as your horn, but it seems like that is a horrible idea. People in the comments of those videos say that doing that is really dangerous. Did you just hook the wires up to the nodes of the battery? Is there a place where I can see a picture or a visual of how you have it hooked up?

Yeah I just had it hooked straight to my battery. The red wire to positive and black to ground. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of what it looked like but I do have other videos where I wired stuff to the battery and it’s the same concept. If you check one of my ooold videos where I install some ZEVO LED headlights I’m pretty sure I filmed connecting them to the battery and it was done the same way.

Have you had any issues with flickering or one side of strip lighting up half way only. I have a bmw 430i and I've connected only red to positive and black to ground. And it worked for about 30min and then started having issues with either side. Either flickering or one side changing colors while other side would be another color opposite of.

Didn’t have any issues like that, make sure the housing is still sealed up around the strips. Moisture could have gotten into there and caused a short or something.

It’s good practice to use a fuse, but for something like this it’s not completely necessary.

Just under the hood, the hood presses on them a little but the casing the lights are housed in is a rubbery material so it doesn’t harm them.

Did you wire the positive to the battery with a online fuse

I didn’t add a fuse, just went straight to the battery. You can add a fuse if you want but I figured the voltage going to these would be low enough to not cause any issues. So far I haven’t had any problems with them, and I’ve used them quite a bit at car shows and night driving.

Do the turn signals match the speed of your factory blinkers, mine hyperflash and am wondering if they will blink at the same speed or be slow and it’ll look weird

Need to add a resistor in parallel with the led to stop the hyperflashing.

Did you wire it directly to the positive and negative of the battery? I wanted to ask because I was concerned about it draining my battery. P.S. I don't know if this is important, but I have an on/off function for my strips. Which is why I'm concerned if my battery will drain really fast.

Yeah it’s connected directly to the battery but the thing about LEDs is they drain so little power you don’t have to really worry about it draining your battery.

@@domoowalk yes, if you wire them directly to the battery like this they will stay on. You will need to turn them off with the remote.

I ordered this kit and I’m stuck on how to connect the red and black wire to my battery.

You basically want to find a connector that’s big enough to fit around the bolt that’s holding the clamp together around your battery post. You should see a bolt and a nut, just loosen the nut enough to slip the connector in and then tighten it back up. If you need more help let me know I can show you on my Instagram.

Nope, I’m these LEDs use very little power when on and I keep them turned off with the remote when I’m not using them at a car meet/show.

Only colors you can use while driving are white (to match headlights) or amber/yellow (to match the turn signals/running lights). But if you’re parked up at a car show it’s whatever you want.

Are these long enough to cover at least the top portion of the headlight? Maybe it’s just me but I see them kinda short?

There should be 2 different lengths you can buy. I bought the longer ones and had to trim them down to fit over the lights. So yes, if you buy the long ones they will cover the whole top of the light.
