Installing Mazda Bongo Diesel Heater // Pt 2.

Hi mate, I fitted the same heater in mine a few months ago. Just been aware you may get over fuelling as the pump is specced for silicone tubing. The dosing takes in to account the expansion of the silicone so you will get too much fuel using the wrong tube. It may explain the smoke. They are not great if I'm honest as the van is too hot with it on the minimum setting so you can only have it on for a short time. The door card will melt to if you're not careful. I'm going to find a bit of adhesive aluminium sheet or something to reflect the heat away

Ah interesting, I did not know this, thanks. With regard to the door, I am doing exactly that, a sheet of aluminium will be made soon to protect the door card as, like you say, it gets pretty hot down there.. 😁 Thanks for watching.

Nice vid. I'm a step behind you on this. I've just removed all the existing rear heater and aircon components as they'd been disconnected from a previous coolant issue by the looks of it. I'm thinking of putting the main heater in it's place, but I'm struggling to find a place for the tank - so this is quite timely. All other videos I've seen that tap into the main tank have involved taking the tank out. I'm guessing you've just cut the main fuel line and attached the t-junction to it. That seems pretty daring! I'm still hunting for a second opinion on it! Whereabouts in the fuel line did you do that cut?

Thank you. I did film the diesel line cutting and install but I seem to have lost the footage. Hence a bit of a cut and shut video. 🙄 I'm going to re film the diesel pipes part and upload it separately that should explain it. 😁 I have connected it all so that, if I need to, I can put it back to how it was originally 😁 Thanks for watching

Thanks, yes tapped into the Bongo fuel line. I will be putting up a video on the fuel system soon explaining it 😁
