Installing MOOG front sway bar links on a Honda Element

While MOOG greaseable parts come greased from the factory, they should also be greased at the time of installation to fill the dust boot and lubricate the interface between the boot and mating part. After installation, MOOG recommends greasing these parts at each oil change for heavy-duty vehicles and at every tire rotation (i.e., annually) for standard-duty vehicles.

I replaced my front links with oem. I could not loosen the rusted bolts, so I used a grinder to slice them off. I will try the Moogs next time. Thanks!

You can't go wrong with OEM but if you live up north I suspect that MOOG units would be easier to replace when the time comes.

Now that you've had those Moog links for a while, would you recommend them still? Going to be changing mine soon and deciding between OEM and the Moogs. I do like that you can grease them.

Have you replaced the front sway bar bushings? Can you get to nuts in front? Are they super rusted? I just broke all 4 bolts in back. Put new 8 grade bolts and nuts on

I just got new moog sway bar links. Are the supposed to move at the nut? Like the bad ones? All mine move. Are they bad? I don't want to put them on until I know they are good.

It's fine if the move. They are designed to move. They should have so much play in them that the rattle though.

Moog aftermarket parts are my choice too! I see your axles are old, possibly original. Did you not replace them with AutoZone Duralast units not too long ago?

I found a good used OEM axle at the junk yard so I swapped that in to see if it sounded better. It didn't.

@@clintsearcy3252 The right side is OEM because it has the centre balancer. Your left side looks like an aftermarket unit. All aftermarket axles in my E performed poorly. So I bought OEM from a junkyard and rebuilt the inboard joints; messy but kinda fun.

I don't expect it to quiet things down on this car because my links were not falling apart like my ball joints were. But at some point im going to do an update on which projects works and which ones didn't.

It might. They should live longer too. Don't go crazy with the grease though. Just a little is all you need.
