Great Video!! Will, I Have A Question Have you Ever Had To Replace The Motor Mounts On Your Corollas?.. Because I Might Need To Have Mine Replaced I Went to the dealership to find How Much To get Two of Them Done And They Said it's Better To Replace All 4 .They Quoted Me A Estimate of 2,900. Which is Crazy. I'm Going To Keep looking Around for a Better price and Quality.

Thank you! I haven't replaced the motor mounts yet but I've got a polyurethane motor mount insert upgrade ready to go in soon which I'll post a video about. But wow $2900 is crazy expensive for just motor mounts!
@Pallidus_Rider

Dealership labo is a bit expensive. Can get motor mounts from dealership parts department (or non-OEM online), do the labor and save the money. Yes, it is good to do all 4 if you can, but there is nothing wrong with doing them one at a time. That way you can spread out the time and cost as needed. I'll be doing motor mounts on my 03 next year.

This past summer I changed all 4 mounts on my 04 corolla. I got the mounts on ebay for like 120 bucks for all 4 and it took me just about all day from like noon till sun down. But it saved me a hell of a lot of money and fixed the shaky idle and weird clunk noise when putting it in gear. Most of my issue was stuck bolts and having to lube them up heat them up and everything else. But assuming you don't live in the rust belt like I do it's a pretty straight forward job

Good job cleaning the hub, but make sure you remove all the rust on the caliper bracket where the brake clips go on. And then add lube before you put the clips on. This will make the pads slide easy and the brakes will last longer

where did you find the rear brake backplate? I couldnt find them on rockauto. mine rusted off so both side are just running without the shield. its probably wearing my rear brakes a little faster but I haven't noticed any issues otherwise.

I got them off ebay a couple years ago, I'm sure there's still some being sold on there!

Did you end up fixing the parking brake? I had the same issue. ended up being a broken spring. Compare it with the other side an make sure one of the bottom springs isn't broken. I did not have to remove the hub. I just bought a spring kit and attached it in there with needle nose. Good luck
@WillChang
@WillChang Жыл бұрын
Haven't fixed it yet, I'll be getting around to it soon! Thanks for sharing, I'll definitely check the spring first!

Do you have the rear breaks conversion video.
@WillChang

I do, here's the link to it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipCQYmqVa62jaas It's an older video so imo it's not as good or easy to follow as what I make now but hopefully you still find some value in it!

so I've been wondering, I have an 06 corolla S and I've been wanting an XRS, what are the main differences between the two that you've noticed so far handling wise not just power power
@WillChang
@WillChang Жыл бұрын
I'd say the handling of the XRS is very noticeably better than the S thanks to slightly stiffer suspension, front strut bar, and rear X brace. The rear disc brakes should also assist with better stopping distance. I will say though that the main appeal of the XRS is the increased power and VVTLI from the 2zz but if you're more interested in handling rather than speed or acceleration then I think you'll be pretty satisfied with upgrading suspension and brakes on your S
@native3606
@native3606 Жыл бұрын
@@WillChang Thank you for the info. Yeah handling for me is my first priority, so I will definitely work on the suspension. So yeah definitely I'll be looking into buying an XRS in the future. Your videos are great and I can't wait for the update on how your transmission has taken to the turbo in your S. especially it being an older model and everything, have you thought about doing a tranny flush to swap out the older fluid so you can keep an eye out for contaminates in the future?

I don't see why not! Not sure if turbokits.com has a kit for the '11 Camry but if not you could always have a kit custom made!
