Thank you for all your videos, very helpful! I was wondering what is the reason to let the first layer dry for 30 minutes at least? is 10-15 minutes not enough? What if i leave the first layer to dry for 2 hours for example, will it be a problem?
@DrySuitProjects2 жыл бұрын
Just the glue manufacturer recommendation. To let it dry for at least 30 minutes

Hi my drysuit is slightly to long can i cut it little bit off?
@DrySuitProjects2 жыл бұрын
If the legs are too long sometime you can make it shorter while installing the new boots/socks. Sometimes the new boots/socks are shorter and the overall length of the suits shortens

I have a question please. Have you ever made your own neoprene socks before? I'm wondering if it would be possible to use a pair of regular wetsuit neoprene socks to make a pair of replacement drysuit socks with, by simply sealing up all the seams. Have you ever done this? Thank you in advance.
@DrySuitProjects Жыл бұрын
Stitching the neoprene requires special machine. Usually one doesn’t have it at his disposal. So - no
@pinnacledivingco Жыл бұрын
@@DrySuitProjects But a pair of neoprene socks are already stitched? Wouldn't it be possible to simply turn them inside out and seal all the seams, and them attached them to the suit? What about using trilaminate material to make a pair of socks from scratch? That should be easy to stitch. 🤔 Maybe?
@DrySuitProjects Жыл бұрын
@@pinnacledivingco sorry, didn't understand it from the beginning. The wet suit neoprene socks(if you have such a wetsuit) will be probably much narrower at the ankle, so it won't fit right to the dry suit.
@pinnacledivingco Жыл бұрын
@@DrySuitProjects Yes. I believe you are correct. I didn't think of that. Thank you. I think in the future I will try to make trilaminate socks. They are in extremely high demand. Thank you for your reply.
@dediver832 Жыл бұрын
Does it mean every time you install new boots, your trousers become shorter, because you need to cut it with old boot. Am I correct?
@DrySuitProjects Жыл бұрын
No, I’m cutting the old boot/sock, trying to leave the suit fabric intact. I’m also measuring the previous glue surface width to make sure to maintain the same length with the new socks or boots

perfect videos. would like to replace my flexboots on my Santi. have you already created a video?
@DrySuitProjects5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Actually it’s exactly the same process.
@grggski4 жыл бұрын
Wow just came across your youtube channel, great videos thanks for sharing, Is this process is similar for replacing a neck seal from a neoprene dry suit with a latex neck seal ! (I currently have a neck seal with neoprene but I want to switch to latex) thanks
@DrySuitProjects4 жыл бұрын
It depends how it attached. If it sewn to the suit, then you probably have to cut it out some way.

hi ,great video, what is the diameter of the mandrel inside the pant leg thx
@DrySuitProjects4 жыл бұрын
It’s a form of a cone with small diameter of 13cm and large diameter of 15cm, length 13cm. Something like that

Can this method also work for breathable fishing waders? The boot-socks of my Large waders are way too big for my size 9 boots. This approach of removing the old socks and replacing with medium size neoprene socks appears more doable rather than cutting off the neoprene toes and trying to restitch the neoprene and resealing seams.
@DrySuitProjects5 жыл бұрын
Yes, this method is not exclusive for dry suits, it can be used for fishing waders and similar staff where the water proof (airtight) attaching is required

@DrySuitProjects6 жыл бұрын
If you need neoprene socks, you can get them here: www.seaskin.co.uk/acatalog/Drysuit_Spare_Parts.html, If you need some flexible boots with rubber sole, you can try ursuit boots: www.ursuit.com/en/tech-dry-boot. Regarding Aquaseal: generally its not a glue, but a sealer. You can try to attach the booties with it, but it will be a mess, its takes a long time to set and tend to stick and stain everything in 3 meters radius :)
@pascalblotiau6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, those booties seem pretty strong and I will use the glue you use Thanks

Превосходно! Что Вы думаете о таком способе герметизации швов (серая лента), как на этом костюме?
@DrySuitProjects6 жыл бұрын
@sibdiving6 жыл бұрын
@DrySuitProjects6 жыл бұрын
Можно, если небольшой участок. Надо только обработать место хорошо, а то плохо будет держаться. Со временем тоже сохнет, трескается и отслаивается. Да и работать с аквасилом и не уделать все вокруг это искусство :)
