I gotta make one general comment to all the haters. First off not everyone has been turning wrenches since they were 12. I'm pleased to see a grown man see a weakness and be willing to work on it. Last thought, y'all be talking about Chase and his lack of knowledge on Grease monkey stuff. How about we throw u in front of a 1 million sub fan base and watch u try to set up all the camera, sound, and live stream gear. Then direct the whole show while starting in it. Then getting it all edited dubbed with audio. Then uploaded every Tuesday. I know I would look like a monkey F+cking a football. So to all the haters remove head from rectum and attempt to get on homies level. Rant done!

Dan, you know I love ya. Much appreciate the comment man. I don't expect everyone to really understand what it takes for this show to come out every week yet I'm expected to just be at Brian's level after spending over a decade in the powersports game. It is what it is though, Imma keep doing me.

Reasons why i love watching, another reason why Daddy Brain is here. I'm learning with every episode
@FSB58475 жыл бұрын
I love these because they remind me of when I worked on my first bike an old SV650 a few years ago. Prior to that I knew NOTHING about cars and bikes, now I can do pretty much anything as long as I have a good write-up! I am an electrical engineer though, so learning how everything worked and got put together was kinda like my school and job so I learned it all very quickly. But not everyone has aptitude for these things. You need to look at something as its whole system. This is what Brian is trying to tell you all the time. "You know how to set up your camera rig" that means, you know how to set up your cameras because you know the full system and setup. You know that sound needs to go in somehow, that video needs to go in somehow, that lighting needs to be set up somehow. All this is the same for working on cars and bikes. Every system on a bike or car is remarkably simple once you understand them. I think the biggest hurdle for people is using the right tools and getting confident working on things in general. Now that chase knows bike stuff, I would be willing to bet he is much more capable around the house for home repair. Not because he has learned anything about home repair, but because he knows how to use tools properly and reading a guide that tells him what to do, is less learning, and more following steps. He also has learned how to go and find information from manuals and other guides. Keep up the great work chase, we all learn sometime! You don't have to be a master mechanic like Brian or an Engineer like me to learn how to take care of your own maintenance.

6 years ago, I was being scolded and yelled at by my dad when trying to remove the simplest parts on my bicycle. I didn't know back then what the big deal was about using the appropriate (and good quality) tools for simple bolts and nuts. Many stripped and rounded bolts and nuts, busted knuckles and ruined paintwork later, I'm doing everything from oil changes to valve adjustments on motorcycles on my own, with a respectable collection of tools and knowledge. I love this WBR series (esp with Brian) because it reminds me of my own long and frustrating yet rewarding journey of learning workshop etiquette, mechanical know-hows, and art of bike maintenance over the past 6 years. I'm still learning a lot from Brian, and keep up the awesome work with this channel and this WBR series! I'm sure it's helping many out there who work on their own bikes too.

Ya know, Chase isn't very mechanically inclined, but I gotta hand it to him for his dedication to learning. And I'm not just talking about him not knowing stuff, but he's just not very good at figuring it out either. Luckily Brian doesn't seem to mind helping him. But to constantly struggle to pick up new information about how things work, and keep going, really takes dedication. Most people would've given up 2 seasons ago. I find that him not knowing certain things helps me, because in Brian explaining it to him, he's also explaining it to me. There's always something to learn from somebody, so don't be so quick to call them stupid. What Chase lacks in mechanical talent, he makes up for in filmography talent. Man do his room's aesthetics and video quality/editing look good. I put that shit up on my 4k TV for the first time last night and I could've sworn I was watching an actual TV show from Motortrend or the likes. Keep up the hard work guys!

Today on WBR Brain Teaches Chase galvanic corrosion.

For those of us at my level: Galvanic corrosion (also called bimetallic corrosion) is an electrochemical process in which one metal corrodes preferentially when it is in electrical contact with another, in the presence of an electrolyte.

Question; Does Brembo or Ducati recommend putting grease anywhere near their pads or calipers? Pads & calipers get very hot (above melting points of most grease) and can/will end up on friction (pad or disk).This cannot be good thing eh? Just sayin'.

There is a grease that made especially for this purpose. Brembo is actually selling one.

In my experience being a bike tech, on the vast majority of customer bikes I would lightly copper grease/slip back of pads as well the caliper bolts and pad pins. Rubber grease the pistons and work them to lubricate the seals and also prevent corrosion. However on race bikes or high end performance bikes I would leave everything completely dry and clean as possible, possibly use a small amount of copper grease on the caliper bolts but that’s it due to the heat that can be generated. Just my own personal experience and take on it.

off point - I recently purchased Cosmo Moto @t - smart brake light that affixes to your helmet and detects when you are decelerating - braking or engine braking to light up and inform other road users of your presence and that you are slowing down. It also can be set up to emit a continuous light similar to that of the rear light on your motorbike whilst shining brighter if you are decelerating in addition it can be set up as a strobe/ continuous warning light as well. Have you thought about reviewing this as I believe that this is an invaluable safety aid in raising your visibility on the road at an affordable price for all motorcyclists. Please let me know your views.
