I am replacing the lower engine mounts and lower control arms on my 06 cayenne s this weekend. It has 218,000 miles on it. I love this car! I have been bothered with the vibration lately though so hopefully this resolves it. Update: car runs great at over 220k now.

Thank you for sharing this. I have watched all your videos and this is very important for me. I am in the process of buying the same Cayenne you have with 92k. Your mechanic's putting a pin on the coolant distributor barb to prevent a pop-out is good for you!

The next owner of your Cayenne will be a lucky guy (or gal?). Good video.

I have been following you for quite some time now. Thank you for posting all the videos. They have been super helpful. I also had to have the engine mounts replaced about a week or two ago. I have an extended warranty and it was not covered. Anyways, I cannot believe how the vehicle performs now. Completely night and day feeling. My vehicle is a 2006 Cayenne Turbo. At the same time I had to have the power steering pump and valve cover gaskets repairs as well. It ultimately cost us 6K. I do still have a rotational sounding noise coming from the front area and rear right side of the vehicle. They were not able to really find anything. I read a few forums and found it may be the differentials. Most folks are putting thicker oil in to reduce the noise. Any ideas or thoughts on your end? Thanks Joe

Please tell me more about the after market insurance. Who is it through? When do you/can you begin coverage? My car has 6 months of CPO warranty left; trying to plan. Thank you. Great videos and content.

Carchex underwritten by The Warranty Group. Definitely read through the fine print before purchasing any warranty. Cheers!

That aftermarket warranty has really worked out well for you. I'm shopping for a warranty for my 2005 Cayenne Turbo but with 151k it limits my options. TC Annapolis MD

Just make sure your vehicle servicing garage will accept the aftermarket warranty first, I asked my trusted garage first and they won't deal with the paperwork/phone calls involved and the lower reimbursement prices. (even if they did, the customer would pay the difference)

Informative as always. What sort of aftermarket warranty do you have?
@CarFanatic4 жыл бұрын
I had a policy through The Warranty Group, which I purchased though CarChex. Such an amazing warranty, they will no longer warranty older Cayennes lol.

Hey, I wanted to ask it’s been about four years now since this video and I wanted to ask you how the top engine mount has held up because I was thinking about buying one for my Cayenne GTS. I got The lower engine mounts done already but the top one is cracked and I didn’t know for sure if the one from Amazon was good or if I should get OEM. Do you think you could let me know through email or on here?
@K1dPhresh15 жыл бұрын
Nice work!! Now that the warranty is about to expire are you going to hold onto the Cayenne or move on to something else. I know you’ve done a few videos of the maintenance you’ve done on it but it doesn’t seem to have been a troublesome vehicle.

Would I be crazy to buy a 2011 - 2013 Cayenne S or GTS with 100,000 miles for around $20 - $25K ?
@CarFanatic4 жыл бұрын
Not crazy just know that the maintenance is that of a high end vehicle and not a new car within that price range. I'd say budget $2k per year.

Did you come out ahead of your policy? Seems like you had quite a few repairs.

Yup, it shelled out $10,000 while only costing $3700.
@johnclunan44884 жыл бұрын
@@CarFanatic Was the $3700 for 3 years of coverage, I have also heard that some policies only pay for low grade parts, was that the case with Carchex?

Thanks for sharing. What kind of sound did you hear over bumps. Mine has a knocking but I think it may be left side shock. Maybe lower or upper control arm.

Love the Porsche but I can’t believe the amount of maintenance they require. I would have figured that buying a Porsche would require a lot less maintenance since the vehicles are known for how well they are manufactured and quality control. I have watched your videos and was really thinking of buying a Porsche but I think I’ll stick with Lexus. Lexus doesn’t require as much maintenance and isn’t as expensive as Porsche to maintain.
@CarFanatic5 жыл бұрын
I think it's because the previous owner and I replaced even the most minor things. My father's Lexus doesn't get much work done to it but it shows when you drive it
