So my daughter works for investors who buy and sell properties one of the last parcels of land had some vehicles one was under a cover it turned out to be a 69 Camaro SS Convertible Pace car parade edition. The investor has given it to her she’s getting paperwork straight now I’ve told her I’ll re panel it , I believe it will need complete quarters in an out and trunk n floor pans. I’ll be be building a rack in my garage as soon as I finish cut n buffing my last paint job. Nice watching your work and gaining some tips the last quarters I replaced were on a 69 GTO Convertible that was In the mid 80s so it’s been a while. Thankfully my tool arsenal is considerably larger now. The last panel replacement was the bottom of a Square body Chevy truck but the Camaro will be a huge task for me by myself!

Nice work as always, I could have used your videos 10 years ago when I did all the metal work on my 64 Impala. I have learned so much watching you videos now and could have used all the tips and tricks. But I managed to get it done, replaced the full floor with all the braces, both rockers, both quarter panels, trunk pan, deck filler and tail panels. I painted the car last year, now just trying to finish the interior and all the glass. Also I have videos on here of the progress but haven't uploaded an update in a while. Absolutely great videos. I noticed you did not prep the new panels to bare metal before spot welding....Why don't you use cleco pins ? I presume the screw holes are also spot welded? Any time you can show a product you use really helps. I am in rural Canada and a lot of these items do not exist here. Many thanks.

@vehdynam Good morning, thanks for the comment ! On the prep, if the edp coat is thin, it can be welded through, but I assure you every joint is prepped with leaving the edp coat in place, weld through primer, Epoxy, or some type of coating. Clecos, clecos will never secure a panel as tightly as screws, all holes are welded. Man I wish I lived in rual 🇨🇦 .... Thanks for the comment, and greetings from Texas !

I've watched all your chevy quarter panel videos many times. It looks so easy when you do it. I'm putting an 63 quarter panel (Impala is only available) on my 63 sedan. Due to differences in the cars and my abilities I cut it the length about 2 inches from the inside edge. I had made templates to check the width and body lines etc. on the new install. When I fit it up and clamp the top and rockers in place, I have about 1/4 inch gap between the back half the wheelhouse flange and the quarter panel flange. (I didn't have this problem on the drivers side) Like you pointed out on the fuel filler area, I get a distortion of the body lines if I clamp these gaps. Shall I just make new wheelhouse flanges that match the quarter panel? Any suggestions will help. Note that I've found that the new quarters don't match the front of truck drop panel which requires modification. Thanks Robert.
@guzzifabrication3448
@guzzifabrication3448 10 күн бұрын
@rsonweb2060 Fit the outside make those lines match and tack into space. It's more important and less work for those to match first. Then modify the wheelhouse, it's much less visible, if that makes sense. Let me know if you have other questions
