Great tips! I'm doing a 53 Chevy 3100 pickup for Drag and Drive with an inline 6, 6-71 blown/nitrous 292 and a T-56 6 speed. North of 1000 HP in race mode. I'll be starting the body work in the spring. All the curves scare me. I bought my truck in SoCal in 1980 when I got out of the Navy so it's in pretty good shape for it's age. The good news is I work for free. I learn so much from your channel. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.

@@guzzifabrication3448 Thanks. It's a long road. Five years so far. I bought a medium sized mill and lathe and make what I can. Everything is a one-off. For some reason I find it necessary to polish everything. My 292 has a Ryan Falconer V-12 head. It flows 340I/220E. Classic case Weiand 6-71 with 2 Quick Fuel 650 DP supercharger carbs with a Holley 16 jet nitrous fogger plate. Billet crank, billet solid roller cam and steel billet rods all by crower. Billet mains dowelled and girdled. 5 stage dry sump. Electromotive direct fire EMS. It would help me out if you could do a video on widening the front and rear fenders 2". 13:50 Hello. Can you use the slapper to knock high spots flat? I've heard any hammer especially pick hammer is a no-no at this stage(primer stages). Until now i just spray thicker in the area around the high spot on the next primer stage and then sand and blend it in. But i've heard you can use a slapper?Can you use light hits with the slapper?🤔
@guzzifabrication34486 ай бұрын
A coarse metal file can also be used as well as a slap spoon and backer, this is the first prime so make a mental note or use the pencil and address on the next round of primer.

Seems like I always see something I haven't tried before, never made guide coat with lacquer thinner, I like the way it sprayed on much more evenly than an aerosol can. The dura blocks are great, I've cut and shaped up a few for odd areas, hard to beat those.
@guzzifabrication34486 ай бұрын
The thinner is less expensive and dries really fast, yeah the duroblocks are an inexpensive awesome addition to the tool box
