Glad I found this video. Will be replacing struts and shocks all the way around this week. This helped me know what I am in for. Thanks! Beautiful red 6, btw!

Its a good car. Not fast, not slow, not heavy, not light, dependable, good on gas. Ford based motor, pre sky active.

just junk.. Currently own one going on 4 years ... Thousands in repairs atleast I did it myself from clearcoat failure to a new motor..And the car didnt even have 75,000 miles on it.. now the car has about 22 on it with the new motor... and I treated like a baby since i got it with 24,000 miles on it.... The car is very heavy at 3,300 pounds With my sound system it's over 4,000 pounds.. Watch your oil like a hawk.. Oil gauge can lie And then you can get catastrophic failure..Check your oil at least twice a week or get a new after maket oil pressure gauge.. Because that's literally what happened to mine and I didn't even run the car without oil more than a day no oil lights nothing went on. My next thing to do on my car are tie rods and of course alignment.. I also need a complete repaint of the car because the clearcoat has failed in certain spots.. No dents no curb rub nothing.. Still kind of worth painting it ..Cause if I was to go buy used one it would cost me about nine to $10,000.. And I know how to repair this car inside out now

@@Pinkielover ok gas and go. You probly had a leaking valve cover gasket or you went to a rip off oil change place that never changed your oil more less your filter. If you 500 lbs worth of sound system that pretty much tells me what the problem really is, of corse you wont hear things starting to go wrong. And all systems do, as someone who had one 20 years ago, is burn up electronics and eardrums. And in a few years you will realize your mistake when you cant hear anything and everyone thinks your a dumbass not paying attension.

Thanks Shifu Jay: Great and helpful video. There is a decided lack of Mazda 6 second gen videos and yours is quite welcome. My teenaged son and I did the front shocks/cartridges only with KYB (kept coils) at 75k miles and now we plan on doing front & rear at 150k miles. Got a kit with Koni shocks and Eiback springs all around. Also will replace top hats up front and all stabilizer bar links, as front driver side link is whipped & clunking, they are cheap, and I am already going to have to muck about with them to do the shocks & springs anyway. Will take a gander at the rest of the suspension parts while up in their business. Again, thanks, this is a real benefit to guys who want to wrench on their Mazda 6s. And especially thanks for my son, who likes mechanical projects.

Dude you’re rides so clean .. glad u switched wheels after these 20s I got some 17s from a 2016 model with some decent meat on the wheels. It rubs very little but it looks so good! I just ordered all engine bay mounts & complete shock/strut replacement. I’m thinking about cutting the springs if I do ever want to go lower. Probably 2 inches with some 19x9 225/40 235/35

I got a 2014 gt and i was looking at suspension replacement. is that just the shock part you did or do i need to do the springs as well. just curious this is the most detailed video i found but i am not well versed in everything just yet.
@Pinkielover2 жыл бұрын
What were your stock wheels like what size ? If you had stock 16 in wheels... You're going to have to change both of your upper control arms because they are specifically designed for 16 inch wheels only ...if you get larger rims you should replace both sides With the correct sizing...Look it up yourself ... that could be possibly what you're rubbing on that and you inner wheel well plastic... I had to change both of my upper control arms because they premature failed because of my larger rims... look into it for anybody who's going to change your rim size.. It's a fairly inexpensive part at AutoZone I think they were $40 each And they come with a lifetime limited warranty, Plus you want that joint to be filled with extra grease..
