I used regular glass. Used 2x4 s cut 3/8 groove in each one. Put one above and one below . Placed the glass in the groove when placing the last 2x4 in. Giving room on either end for them to slide they work great ! Only issue is....sometimes if you get freezing rain the rain will enter the groove and freeze the glass up. Have to plan around that issue....which seldom happens.

Lightly scuff the plastic , get some plastic spray paint in a darker green. For the crack in the glass , you can use packing tape on either side of it to minimize further splitting or you can purchase some glass repair liquid. That would seal the crack up and essentially fix the crack. Blind looks great ! I really enjoy your channel ...

When I was a kid in Central New York State...After the corn harvest, herds of 150-200 deer would come to gleen the dropped corn. At dusk, my Dad would load us in the back of the pickup to go down the road to watch them move through.

If you wanted to use your field as a food plot, you could always disc up a few strips after your last hay cutting. Then come back in and plant crimson clover or soybean. Deer REALLY LOVE okra, but it is expensive to use just for deer. Lol. Good luck with the hunt and don't worry about the deer seeing the windows. Itll be part of the background in a week or so.

how would you hunt here in north western Ont. Canada. moose an deer rifle opens 2nd Saturday of Oct, an runs to Dec. 15th, it is average 15 below now, not counting wind, as we get into Dec. it will be 25 to 35 below, we sit in a chair for 3 hours in the morning, go in before day light, and go back at 3pm an sit till dark no blinds alwed on public land. plus be dam hard to carry a portable one in , though the snow
@CountryViewAcres4 жыл бұрын
If I was in North western Ontario, I am sure I would be hunting they way you do. But the public land around me doesn't allow guns, archery only. So you would have to carry in a tree climber or a deer blind. So I would rather hunt 200 yards from my house. Where I can use a shotgun (no chambered rifles allowed in Illinois for deer). Where I have the freedom to build a permanent hunting blind. Might as well make more comfortable if I can.
@arnoldromppai53954 жыл бұрын
@@CountryViewAcres very interesting your rules, shot gun for deer wow.. the problem with my land, there a ton of deer normally, but building a permanent blind is a waste, as the deer change there entrance to my land all the time. could go for a week, they come in from the back corner, a week later they come up the drive way, it changes, years like this year with a lot of wolf presser, you are lucky if you see a deer, they are around, but they go deep into thick forest, i just had a wolf attack, on my group of 4 month old steers in the middle of the day, i have put pig scraps out for bait to kill them as well as snares, i finally shoot one of 2 huge red fox that have been cleaning out my layers and turkeys every year for the past 3 years, i have had no problem shooting the younger fox, but these 2 big buggers have been impossible to get a shot at or get in a trap. the one i shot last week was over 100 ponds, biggest red fox i even seen

This is my first blind of any kind kzbin.infoUgkxLQGtOO9dXIsNktEeycGoIT6jtJJNTScA so nothing to compare it to. After I receive it, I set it up and left it outside at home for a couple of months to let it start smelling more like outside than human. So far I've been very happy with it. Very roomy - I hunt alone but could easily fit another person comfortably. Put one bolt through the shoot-through mesh, and works as advertised. I've ordered another one, so this noob is totally satisfied. One caveat - the included stakes are pretty useless; you'll want to order something more substantial. I haven't had it long enough to rate durability, but zero issues so far.

I would have had that blind decked out. Beef up your insulation for better conditioning. I would have installed every other window upside down then it would open to the other side. Rolled solar panels on top will give you quiet power so no noise is casted to scare off game. Since that's on your property I would have ran power lines if you didn't want solar. All in all you got a great deal n location. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the better half.
