Installing OEM Footwell Lights in 19-21 Silverado

Thays awesome. I've been trying to find video on here to figure out how to do this. I want to add footwell lighting, im going with blue led rock lights I got off walmart lol under my dash and back seats in my 2019 trailboss. Would this be the same process in my truck as yours? Or would I be better off using a add a fuse and going off one of my fuses?

It would be the same. I don't think a fuse would he necessary. I would find the diagram for the wires you need to splice into. 2019 colors will be different than a 2021.

Now to add the lights for the back, can I just use another t tap and splice right into the front lights or should I use a butt splice?

If you're looking at the wires with the clip at the top, it's the yellow wire on the top row (all the way to the right).

Question...I just added lights in the foot wells of my truck. I hooked everything up correctly. But when all my lights, dash and dome, go off, they stay on. Did I do something wrong? I don't want to wake up to a dead battery in the morning

Hmm...yeah, that's weird. Have you tried sitting in your truck after shutting the door just to see if they go off after a bit?

@@ordinary_arkansan yea, just went outside about 20 mins after locking up the truck and they went off. It just takes a bit longer than I thought it would. I appreciate the help and input. They look pretty awesome. Do you have a Facebook page, I could show you

Yes. It fades on and off when the doors open and on unlock. If I turn (all) the dome lights on, they will also turn on.

They are just some cheap rock lights from Auto Zone. Honestly, I'm probably changing them out soon. Any led lights will work.

Using that yellow wire will fade the footwell lights off and on with the dome light or are they constant on with the headlights and dash lights? I’m doing the same project but I only want them on when the dome lights are activated or switched on. Not constant.

It's constant. It comes on when the cluster lights are on. I can't remember which wire it is to hook to the dome lights, but its possible to do it where they are on and off when you open the door.

@@ordinary_arkansan White module (closest to driver seat) third wire in the first row (gray) for future knowledge. It works with the dome light button and when you open the doors. Off otherwise. Thanks again.

There are 2 or 3 yellow wires in that plug which one is it

Man, I'm going to be honest; I can't remember which one it is exactly and I don't have my truck with me for a week. If you go to Gmupfitter.com you can download a diagram for it and it'll tell you which one exactly it is. I only remember there being one yellow wire on my bcm. Is your truck a 2021?

@@ordinary_arkansan it’s a 2022 but looks exactly the same. 2 of the yellow wires are very skinny like a smaller gauge and one yellow wire a good bit larger. I should be able to check with a meter and get someone to dim the lights and if the voltage drops I know I have the right one. I’ll check out the website thanks

@@ordinary_arkansan I found it thanks for the help. I do have 3 yellow wires in that plug but I checked VDC in each yellow wire while having my wife to dim and brighten it back up and watched the VDC drop to 0.7 back up to 11.9 so I know I have the right wire.
